My Mum has let her buildings insurance slip accidentally. 20 years ago a large crack appeared in her hall and to cut a long story short it turned out there were no footings beneath her downstairs cloakroom at the front of her house. This was covered by her insurance and she hasn't had any further problems. However, it appears to be a big problem when obtaining insurance, and no companies wll even quote. Her last policy expired over a year ago and she ony realised recently. The company she was with before ( all her life ) have said she must start again , and then said they wouldn't quote. Can anyone make any suggestions ?

Does anyone have any recommendations for buildings insurance for let properties?

Also, could someone tell me what Quidco is please?

    Thanks
My mantra is simple: If I don't help myself first, I shouldn't expect it from others. If I don't like something, I will change it. If I can't change it, I will learn to deal with it.

I accept responsibility for my own actions and my own situation. A sense of entitlement is not healthy and will only lead to consistent disappointment.

Hi, can anyone advise me how long it takes for the £120 for Lloyds TSB to track through Quidco? I bought the policy on Sunday afternoon and it still hasn't tracked....should I be panicking? I know it says leave it a week first, but I don't want to wait too long incase I need to cancel the plicy (wouldn't be worth it without the cashback!!) thanks x

My parents Lloyds policy took 24hrs to track and payment was made at the end of the second month. In all they were very quick IMO

My insurance renewal this year was £270, using Tesco compare, with online discounts and 1000 clubcards I managed to get it down to £118 with Churchill. I'm very pleased.

  • Hi, Im trying to get a quote for home isurance (contents only) on my new house, but because it has just been built, the postcode is not being recognised. I have done all of the comparison sites & the big companies, but have only managed to get 4 quotes in total, but none of them offer cashback. If i phone the companies to get quotes then I dont think I would be entitled to the cashbackk through Quidco. Anyone got any advice on what i can do?
    Thanks

    Morning

Just had a quote from Liverpool & Victoria (L&V) for Contents & Buildings Insurance that knocks spots off all other quotes I have had over the past week. Ok the contents cover is a lot lower than most but its still more than what we need.

So has anyone had experiance of them ?

Is the customer service any good has anyone had issues with them when making a claim ?
