My sister,as fund went into the credit union once a month, so if I hadn't managed it because of lack of change, I just made it up at pay in time. I also threw in any tenners which happened to be in my purse when I was at the postoffice (my CU comes with a paypoint card which you can use at the post office, of the cornershop paypoint). I ended up with my sistercas money, plus £320 from extra bits I had chucked in, which will pay this year's car tax and MOT.It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Very true; ah well, we can only try and be as pleasant as possible to others, hey? Wheels or no wheels.;)Sometimes it works in reverse too LW sometimes I willl spot a wheelchair user and instead of not looking at them will smile at them, some respond great, others glare as if saying, what are you looking and smiling at! Never mind I will keep smiling.
Yep - sounds about right. Some people will walk up and expect the wheelchair to miraculously vanish out of their path (I knew I should've got Mr LW to put knives on the wheels):D and others will hold doors, and be really nice.:oLW - people tend on the whole to ignore us when I'm out with the people I support at work - they wont move aside even when they can see I'm supporting a blind person:mad: this is the tourists and visitors - the local people tend to know us and are great:)
Sid's gone home now - poor little cuss didn't want to go; he sat his little bottom down and refused to budge!:D Agent from the dog-sitting company had to physically pick him up.:o I do hope he comes back again, he's such a sweetie.
I now have 10 dogless days, then Dilly will be back; she's stayed here several times before, and is no trouble whatsoever, apart from she has a bit of a leaky bladder.:o Shame thay don't do TenaLady for dogs!:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I hate having to use wheels. I get bashed in the head with bags and get to stare at people's crotches. I have noticed I get treated a lot better when Kid's Dad is with me but he is the type of man who gives out a "Dont mess with me or mine" vibe.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Exactly my experience when on Crutches, the amount of times they were taken out from under me! Or they just walk right into me....! I actually got scared to leave the house when I was on them!
Also as a pregnant woman... I keep getting elbows or bags in the stomach!!! They just charge past without a care... when you say something (which I do, they look shocked...! It's as if they didn't see me!) I am amazed at how rude and inconsiderate people can be!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I got elbowed hard in the head a few weeks ago & I was standing up, it must be murder in a wheelchair, though I think you are right LW, knives on the wheels, like Boudicca's chariot.

Hello everyone
Hope everyone has had/having a good day, I havent had time to read all the thread.
First day back at work and oh my its hard going when all you want to do is sit your feet up with a cpupa, still life goes on and pennies to earn. Made some changes and feel really positive about the New Year not sure how long I will feel like this but at least Im trying and as I have a big birthday in 2012 so I want some things sorted before then. Anyway less of the waffling on
Going up to have shower and put on this all in one thing, makes me look like a blue teletubby but its so cosy and warm, a friend gave it to me for Xmas and I must admit I wasnt impressed, but now I have tried it I could wear it all the time - well not quite I think Id frighten the children!!!!! LOL
OS for today is only LO for dinner tonight.

Evening all
Haven't done too much today, vertigo came back this afternoon, gone again now though. I did however pack a couple of boxes for moving, plus filled a suitcase with clothes. And I've done a tiny bit of uni work too, not enough though!
I just spoke to my new landlady and she has very kindly said I can move in on 14th jan and then pay rent from 21st (I'll be giving her the extra week cash too!). This is a huge help to me cos I get paid on 21st of month and didn't want to be in my overdraft for a week every month! :jAnd I can get free removals on the 14th!
OS wise - I used up some LO veg for a stirfry for dinner, and also made a small pot of celery soup to freeze for lunches when back at work (2 portions). DW on again - how does it get so full in a day?! Need to use up some bananas on the turn so just had bananas and LO custard for pudding
.
Have a good evening all

Sounds like some of you have had busy days. I'm still on christmas hols and go back to work on monday. i've been quite lazy and am gradually trying to bring myself round! Had a NSD and hope to have many more! Made brown bread last night - a simple delia recipe which required no kneading - perfect! it was delicious too! Homemade chicken nuggets for tea and roasties (HM but from the freezer as we've no potatoes in!) i'm now beginning 'packed lunches' for the freezer - mini scone pizzas which are now cooling, biscuits and flapjacks. i've managed to sneak linseed, bran, sesame seeds and crushed sunflower seeds into flapjack alongside dried fruit so should be a nutritious snack (only one spoonful of sugar too!!)
just waiting for the flapjack then its corrie and bed me thinks.
hope everyone is well!0 -
Hi. I'm just in time to say 'goodnight'.
Young friend and her 3 yearold here today. Had forgotten how exhausting 3 yearolds were, and how painful it can be treading on lego bits with no shoes on!
Lou, JulieG and any others with baby problems - I had a friend who, like myself, could not have babies. When anyone said to her, "No baby yet then?" she'd reply, "No diet yet then?"
LW, Mollie and others: Some people can be so inconsiderate, I was in a biggish, posh town once and saw an elderly lady fall on the pavement in the High St. The crowds carefully walked ROUND her and as I was crossing the road to help her I saw a smartly dressed gentleman actually step OVER her.:mad::mad: Wheelchair users, I suggest a sharp stick and if anyone offends you, use it to deliver a painful poke to the parts of their body that you can reach easily.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I believe that friends are quiet angels
