  • Good Morning all I was meant to be at eldest Dds but decided I would have another day at my house instead as I want to catch up on some serious house cleaning as you could write your name in the dust around here as I have been gadding around such a lot.I have to have a deeply clean house for New Year ( result of having a Scots Mum'n'Dad I think;))So I will probably be off tomorrow or saturday at the latest. No shopping to get though which is good, and I have been decluttering all morning.I have some ironing to do this afternoon which i'll do whilst watching some catch-up t.v.
Hope everyone is having a good day and <<hugs>> to those who aren't
lou don't be so hard on yourself honey no ones perfect and we all feel useless at times i know I do when I can't phsyically do certain things anymore due to wobbly joints and anno domini(old age:))but so what its not the end of the world .I have just looked out of my study window and I can see the River Medway from here and although the day started rainy and grey the sun has just come out, albeit a bit of a watery one, but its shining a little which is great, This afternoon I shall pot up some ammaryliss bulbs I was given for christmas in my conservatory and once they start to show through its a good sign that the spring will be on its way and next year hopefully we will all be a wee bit better than this year.Onwards and upwards chums, back to my decluttering

ds had a long lie in this morning. too many late nights catching up with him. playing happily with his the huge train track i built him. have given the kitchen a quick sort out.

will ask hubby to get the box for the tree down from the loft when he is home from work and he can help sorting that out. that will give us bit more room for the toys.

dying for a long soak in the bath :o

Lou My DS is 9 and a half, and I failed to give him a sibling during that time. I too felt a failure when I lost each baby... but the truth is neither of us are failures, we just struggle with what life throws at us. People can be very insensitive with their comments I know, but they think they are helping by keeping things light. Tell them it bothers you, and they will stop... a word of warning, they can then start tip-toing around you... which for me drove me nuts!
    [/QUOTE]
*Nods* Yep, I know about the "tip-toeing" bit; amazing how people avoid even making eye contact with a wheelchair user, and go all squirmy when they have to speak to you. Sorry for your past losses JG, I had no idea.

Don't feel bad, Lou; you're like me, we take what people say (or don't say, iyswim) far too much to heart. Btw, I shall be regularly stopping for lunch at 12:00 noon during the week, once the NY Bank Hol is over; I'd like it if you'd make a regular date to join me - virtual company at meal time is a darned sight better than eating alone.;)

Going to take Sid for his final walk for this stay - he's being collected at about 14:30:( I shall miss the little chap; still, we have Dilly the Westie arriving on 7th January, so that'll be good.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

It's okay, you didn't write on the boards back when they happened.

Adding to the tip-toeing... I went to the Hospital last week, and the Dr asked which number pregnancy this was and when I replied 8th (2nd ongoing) he broke eye contact immediatly and mumbled an apology. It's not like it was his fault, which is what I said.

People also avoid eye contact with the seriously overweight. I used to weight 8 and a half stone more then I do now... and it's amazing how many people will not talk to you, or make eye contact.

Then when I was struggling to walk for 2 years while I had my knees re-constructed, the way the bank would treat me because I couldn't get to a branch... they acted as though I was stupid because I was disabled! Then you have the other type of people who knock out your crutches in the supermarket...!

I watch people do the same to my mum (who is housebound) and it's so frustrating!

Sorry for the rant... but it get's my goat! I always smile at everyone the same!
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

OOoohhh gotta love DH having a strop sometimes, lol.... He was in a mood with a couple of people who dropped in, so he busied himself in the kitchen, making a ham macaroni cheese (he defrosted some Christmas ham that had been frozen) and thoroughly cleaned the range over hob top, lol. If only all strops of his worked that way, lol

So, I've made a decent dent in the decorating bits that were around, and given the coving it's first coat of paint. Off to do it's second coat now

Oooooohhhh aaaaaaaand, I popped to the allotment today to politely see if they had any news on m application for a plot (I put the form in back in mid November when I was put 'at risk' of redundancy and hadn't heard a peep, even just to say they got my form... Well, it turns out it got misplaced, so I was glad I popped down after all that. They have a waiting list (which I knew anyway) but they said to pop down on Sunday as it's the last day of them collecting their rents for 2012. Now, they didn't directly say I could have one if it came up, buuuttt...I figure they have asked me to pop over for a drink in the lottie bar for a reson right? :D:D:D:D Fingers Crossed!! :D:D:D

    Hello
Hope everyone has had a good day. I met a friend for coffee and didn't do the planned houswork as DD is having a sleepover tonight.
I have taken my mum's neighbour out with her wheelchair before and couldn't believe how thoughtless others could be.

    Evening

Arrived safely before the wind got worse, all tucked up in the corner of the tennis/netball court :D;). Been raining on and off, but luckily it stopped for us to set up the 'van. Been and laid our places in the hall, seems it is Jacket Potatoes with a choice of fillings, and Rhubarb Crumble & Custard tonight :D:D:D

Just sat chilling before getting changed to go in for dinner.

Sometimes it works in reverse too LW sometimes I willl spot a wheelchair user and instead of not looking at them will smile at them, some respond great, others glare as if saying, what are you looking and smiling at! Never mind I will keep smiling.

Have a good evening all, hope you get your bath soon Lou.

    Take care DG

    Hi all,

Feeling a bit tired,we've just had DH BiL,his GF and 2 nephews her for a lunchtime buffet,so I was up early sorting all that out. They brought me a lovely festive flower bouquet, and gave DS2 some presents for the baby, which was very unexpected. They've not long since gone-hope the traffic back over the M62 to Leeds isnt too bad for them.

All food is back in the fridge, but I've frozen some cheese,we had quite a lot.I made a chicken curry and rice too, plenty left for tomorrow.I managed to use up 2 (different)half melons leftover from Cmas day to go with parma ham etc from Ald*,pate from there too,so it all looked quite nice put out, along with 2 big pizzas for 6 quid on offer ,and fairly frugal.I had some mince pies and made a lemon drizzle cake last night.

Dh got himself in a bit of a tizz last night worrying about money, and his business,as there is no work for he and DS2 at the moment .DS went asking a mate in a different line of work if there was anything with him,as he's mentioned it before to DS.He says he can do some hours for him,but it means travelling up and down the country and staying overnight, but hes not bothered as long as there is something coming in.I was very proud of him as he said hed give his Dad his wages till things got better, once he'd taken off what he needs for his DD.Bless him.

Heard my uncle was in hospital so may have to go and see him tonight.

Anyway, hope things are ok with everyone else, love & hugs xxx
PS-my Sistercas fund lasted till Feb,then I kept borrowing the change for the milkman:o

busy day at work. When I got home I changed the bed, hoovered the bedrooms. Put a wash on. swept kitchen floor and cooked tea.
Just having a cuppa now before the rest of the chores.

DS is at work so collecting him later and getting a few groceries.

Another early shift tomorrow then got the weekend off:j

Hope everyone's ok, will have a quick catch up.

Donny - hope its not too rough in the van! dreadful here , wet and windy!

Redruby - I like your idea of doing the sistercas fund - I think I'll try that instead of trying to find the change:T

LW - people tend on the whole to ignore us when I'm out with the people I support at work - they wont move aside even when they can see I'm supporting a blind person:mad: this is the tourists and visitors - the local people tend to know us and are great:)

have a great evening all x
