Lou - I agree with BB you are not a failure hun. Can someone take DS out for an hour or so? Then you can have a relax, or do some tidying? And re the friend thing, leave it, if they want to be childish let them, they will be the one losing a good friend not you x* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Good morning all.
I have a real hangover this morning so am not up to much just yet.
Baking/cooking with dd which we've just started.
First load of washing done and on airer.
Desperately need to clean my bathroom today. I hate my bathroom with a passion - it looks awful no matter what I do with it.
Hope everyone is well, and love and hugs to those that are not so good at the moment.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Morning Everyone,
Quite a late post for me today. Im still feeling a little bit down about things. Thank you for your comments monnogran and flutterby. I realise that being single isnt the end of the world and I know that I am very lucky in what I have been able to achieve. I have managed to travel extensively, live in four different countries, experience a number of things, but sometimes, I just wish i could share that with someone. Although I am self sufficient, and independent, and love my freedom, I still want the house, with a family and someone to snuggle up to on winter nights
Oh well, there is not much I can about the current situation, so onwards and upwards.
As part of my contract I have to do a winter camp over the school holidays. I have tried to make it fun, as Korean children work so hard as it is, even during the holidays they spend most of their day at private lessons. I decided we were going to make cellphone charms, basically a small stuffed toy out of felt. Well, it has been quite an eventful two days, what was meant to take up about 40 minutes has take over 2 hours and we are still not finished :rotfl::rotfl: The camp is going to be over before we even get onto our second activity, which is chocolate making :eek:
OS wise, I am just doing one last lot of laundry before my friend arrives, putting new sheets on beds etc, cleaned the bathroom, hoovered the rest of the house and am now just trying to put everything in its place.
Lou - Just wanted to send you a hug. You are not a failure at all. With regard to your friend. F*** her. you don't need people like that in your life. I recently went through a similar thing, and I came to realise, there is no point me being bothered or worrying about when they obviously haven't given me a second thought. Try to just forget about it.
Have a great day everyone and hugs to all those feeling under the weather or down.0 -
Morning All
Lou - as the parent of a only child (by our choice) you are his playmate, as is DH. Sod the cleaning/tidying and HW, and play with him. Go out to a park if the house is getting on your nerves. Clean/Tidy when he has gone to bed and drag DH along doing it with you. So he has been to work, so have you looking after/playing with DS. I know which is easier. Enjoy him he will not be this small long.:o
Sat in the 'van, raining a little at the moment, over looking open fields, and a horse grazing in the nearest. So quiet and calm (apart from the damn wind). Only 50 miles to do today, cannot arrive until just after lunch, so will set off an hour before.
((hugs all round)) Not sure how often I will be on, depends how often I can charge up the batteries:D

Just to reassure you,I did not meet my OH till I was 36 (I think or maybe 37) had been on my own for years before that, It made me into a really independant strong person, you singletons must not worry, you have plenty of time yet xxxx0 -
Morning all,
Late posting for me seeing as I've been up since 5am. Didn't want to get up but my coughing kept DH awake, I've a ful blown cold and sore throat, now where did that come from? I was fine y/day, just glad I did shoping and sorted out LO's y/day as I feel awful atm.
DH has just made us scrambled eggs on toast, popped me on the sofa and lit the inglenook, feeling quite spoilt. I phoned my DFs to say I can't meet them as I don't want them to catch what I have, I was going to help them with DF's funeral. I have organised far too many for my liking.
Nothing has sunk in after skimming the thread, head's too fuzzy.
Hope you all have a good day.0 -
Morning (just!) all
Finally managed to get on after a couple of hours of 'Mummiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeee' every two seconds! I've finally let the boys have a go on SkyLanders on the Wii for a bit so miraculously I have my ears and brain back, lol
I've pulled a load out of the TD and put another load in the WM so far this morning, and have pulled a lamb curry out of the freezer (left over Chrimbo meat!)
I spent Boxing Day 'recycling' the Christmas dinner leftovers - I always do as I get really funny about leftovers hanging around. So I spent the day in the kitchen on Boxing Day mashing up the veg for Bubble & Squeak and then freezing what we didn't eat that night, then I also made lamb curry from the meat left on the lamb leg, and LOADS of turkey burgers (yuuuummmmmmm). So, I hardly have anything to sort in my fridge today but that'll be getting a once over
So (sorry, had a waffle-a-thon there!) today's plans are:
Sort more washing - started
Take out dinner - done, hm lamb curry
Sign new work contract and send off
Have a bedroom blitz
Sort the decorating tools that are still floating around, leaving just the bits I need for the remaining papering and painting
Have a good day all!April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

I just had a bitter-sweet moment, DH got a cheque from his grandfather's estate... it's nice to have a little more towards our house deposit, but so sad that we had to loose someone for it.
Lou My DS is 9 and a half, and I failed to give him a sibling during that time. I too felt a failure when I lost each baby... but the truth is neither of us are failures, we just struggle with what life throws at us. People can be very insensitive with their comments I know, but they think they are helping by keeping things light. Tell them it bothers you, and they will stop... a word of warning, they can then start tip-toing around you... which for me drove me nuts!
With regards to your friend, I had one like that... whatever her problem is she will have to sort it when she's ready. Your family is more important right now. In the meantime listen to donny-gal and ignore the house and play with your precious little boy.We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like.
