Speaking from experience, the email option is not necessarily going to get your answer as quickly as you would like.

Contact the call centre and ask to speak with one of the managers.

they are a company that depend on word of mouth in order to bring on new business, so pretty sure they will be refunding you of any money which is due to yourself.

Make sure they understand your situation and you will get all fixed in no time.

As for your phone, you can dial 1280 to go back to BT or their old pre fix code of 1457 which will route you through them but not get the free calls.

    Hope this helps

    Well here's the latest:

    Back from holiday.

I got no reply to my email.

I called Primus at 4.00 pm Today (from work)

Excuse no 4: Have I changed to another carrier as my number has "fallen off" their system ?

I then asked to speak to Christine the Operations Manager. I spend 20 minutes on hold before hanging up.

I call back agian and ask for Christine again who is unavailable. I ask for Syed. I wait another 10 minutes on hold before putting the phone down and trying a third time.

I speak to Syed, a very pleasent and helpful chap:

Excuse 5. "Energis who register the numbers have had a problem with my phone number, but don't worry it has been sorted out."

I get home, try my phone and I STILL CANT MAKE AN OUTGOING CALLS through Primus.

Thanks to the posts on this thread I can successfully make an outgoing call over BT by dialing 1280.

Many of the Primus evenangilists will disagree, but as you can see from this case PRIMUS offer no service and no help. Its coming up to 6 months and I still cant access the service I registered for.

Any suggestions for an alternative service provider.

They charge extra for caller display.Use a 0844 4p a minute customer service number. Bar access to the likes of 18185 as you point out. Dont offer unlimited Evening & Weekend Calls despite what they say on site.

    An update

I spoke to Primus again today.

Excuse 6 "There is a problem with the carrier preselection"

The problem has still not been sorted out.

I can now make outgoing calls by dialing 1280 and use Primus by dialing 1457.

I wonder if there is going to be a similar problem with moving to madasafish. :undecided

I dont think I have the patience to go through all these problems again.

Sorry i stand corrected 4p not 5p a minute 24/7 from a BT landline, but expensive if your phones not working and your using a mobile(unless your on O2 contract). Shame they dont offer a freecall,or a geo number for their customer service like some other suppliers do.

Do they let you CPS your calls?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
