  • I'm the other guy. So let's be clear: I know what I'm doing with my phone and when. Outside of my wi-fi home network, I rarely use apps that requires a lot of data like youtube, googlemap, and very rarely Facebook. My limit is 500MB - Orange charged me 8 times that limit...!!! It's enormous!
I know I'm not leaving any App on all day.

Sorry if I offended anyone being a bit harsh on poor Orange.

Yes, tho I ve seen another post where it says that you have to keep re-setting it! This is a nightmare of organisation now - will have to put 'alert' on my calendar for billing day now!!! Getting ridiculous!

On my handset there is a built in widget that tracks data, it slightly over reads as data via the O2 portal is not charged or deducted anyways, the downloaded data is closest to the billing , which suggests uploads are not counted, there is a date facility on there so it autmatically resets on a date you choose, but does not store beyond the current month, there is also a graph for data useage for the day, you can see when you go on web pages how the quick session can end up being quite large usage.

Hi, nice to hear from someone with the same problem! Make orange communicate with you in writing and check the new rules and quote them! Tell them you are seeking advice from consumer forums and about Onavo,

PS Do those apps u mentioned use data even while youre not using them (location services etc?) They don't show on my Usage Graph.

I have the Xperia Ray, however I think the tool is a standard Android tool for 2.3 onwards, it's just called data monitor.
