Just spotted this box frame freebie. I was thinking it might look good if printed on scrapbooking paper, white with stars on it?

    Hello everyone,

I have been following this thread with interest simply becasue I love crafty things but never get around to having the time to do them.

Anyway, I have taken the Christmas decorations down and put them up in the attic and whilst up there I spotted some decorations I bought a few years ago in the January sale that I planned to jazz up (and clearly never did)

They are glass heart Christmas decorations (one blue, one clear). They are about 2 inches tall and have the old stlye Christmas decoration top bit which means that you can pull the bit out that has the ribbon through it so that you are essectially holding a little heart shaped glass bottle. The opening of this is less that a centimetre wide so I'm stuck as to what could be put inside, but thought they might make nice valentine's day decorations.

Any ideas about how to use these decorations would be really appreciated, thank you.

  • Hi Nuninge

If you wanted them for valentines u could fill them with baby oil and write on grains of rice and put them in and the baby oil makes the writing bigger, I tried this with the small corked bottles you get and made the mistake of adding fine nail glitter which within a few days turned white and hardened together lol not sure if normal glitter would work ok??

or you could draw or write on the glass with glass pens and maybe fill the bobble with water...maybe even put some food colouring or somethin in to change the water colour. Not sure how you would seal the top though...

Can't say I'm full of inspiration right now but will keep it in mind!

Hopefully someone with some better ideas will be along soon :D
  • Thank you Emmarillo for the felt link thats great x What do you make from felt? I am resisting looking at the pintrest until the things I need to sort over the next couple of weeks are sorted! i am the worlds best procrastinater as it is without having another distraction LOL!

Im going to make a pin cushion for my first craft project as my pin box has shattered! Not helpful but it was my own fault. I must buy a new craft box to keep everything organised.

Just bought some of these from Lakeland for doing Cookies in a Jar - they're not super cheap but worth £2 each I think for looking pretty. Can't believe I'm getting started on Xmas 2012! (Neither will DH, these will need to go straight in the loft!)

They also have these labels reduced:
