I'm going to ask you a seriously question now; has the organisation ever achieved any great successes that were fully due to this 'belief' that they are forcing you to engage in? Or do you think it has a negative effect on their interactions with other people?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Sounds highly suspect to me. I would be out of that place like a shot!!

That one has *some* validity, I'd be less worried as a small number of organisations do use it in a similar way to MBTI.

But look at the disambiguation page and the fourth way one.

Good grief, it's totally barking. I suppose the fifth way is -

    Fillet of a fenny snake,
    In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
    Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,
    Lizard’s leg, and howlet’s wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I have to admit, I looked through the previous posts last night and have twice typed a response and not posted it because it seemed harsh. But what the hell...

OP, there is either something seriously wrong with your employment, in which case take the advice and get the hell out. Or you are attention seeking.

Looking through your posts, I can see two sides to the story almost throughout. Occupational hazard - I have to wonder what the other side would say to me if they came through the "office door". I've had cause to have words with a couple of staff who dressed inappropiately for a legal office in the past. OK - a word was enough, but in a small team and at a professional conference I could see how someone might "re-adjust" a neckline that was entirely too revealing. You commute a lot between your home and London - I can see how someone might kindly offer you a stay over rather than trailing back and forth. You've complained about your wages - and got a £5k pay rise in the last year which isn't to be sniffed at. You've complained about your job title because it isn't important enough for someone mixing with the hoity-toity and in the corrdors of "power" (when you are older you will discover that they aren't all that powerful or important). And we are all running away with assumptions based on a single word about some team-building exercises which frankly I wouldn't rate any version of, but that's just my opinion. And as for the e-mail - well people who go snooping through other people's in boxes seldom hear good of themselves.

I'm sorry, but I am finding the entire saga preposterous. It's almost as though you have to up the stakes every time you post about your employer. If it is a bad as you say it is and you are as good as you say you are, then the answer is clear to anyone with a brain cell - get out. And if you don't have the will or independence of thought and action to do so then you need to give some serious thought to what being a grown up is about.

Can I go and work there for a week or two (I'd even do it for free)? I thought this stuff only existed on American TV.
  • "We all had personality testing but in an open team meeting format, which was strange and we had to confess about really private/personal things."

Apart from all of the other things of concern you have said about your position and the organisation, this is very deeply worrying to me. That you appear reluctant to get the heck out of there suggests very strongly that you may be trapped into some sort of co-dependence-type relationship. Which may be the organisation's intention.

You either make the decision to leave for the sake of your own well-being and mental-health or you don't. But if you don't want help to make that decision and are just using this forum to carp and moan, please be clear that that is what you're doing. Ground-hog day is rarely interesting or entertaining for long

OK. I am coming to a conclusion on this. Either you let her have her way with you, or you get out ASAP.

If you won't let her have her way with you, you will find that she will ultimately come to the conclusion that you won't ever and she will recruit your replacement and your star will fade rapidly. So better to move out while she still thinks she has a chance. [Even smarter to move out, ask for a reference, and say it's because you want to allow scope for things to develop.]

Thanks, I do genuinely appreciate your views, it has woken me up for the better. I take all of your points on board about how it could look from another perspective. I am seriously confused by the organisation though and definitely not intent on just moaning for the sake of moaning. I just go round and round in circles!
