Good and bad areas east of Manchester

  • Offerton would be a no for me - too much word of mouth negativity about it, ditto Hattersley.

I am not sure about car insurance being that telling. I tend to look at the numbers of reported anti-social behaviour incidents. That police website has a useful map that lists them street by street.

I would agree that going north of Manchester will be cheaper - esp. if you're north already. £100000 though, isn't going to buy you much in a good area unless you are willing to move further out of Manchester, where prices can be cheaper. In Manchester itself, all the areas with those prices are not exactly salubrious.

the housing that you will be able to affored in offerton will be on the concil estate. now its not the worst in stockport but its not the best ether. the council has listed offerton as one of there prefered sites for a travellers camp. now this is not the travellers fault bt it will impact on prices. i don't see you getting a decent house in the stiockport area for anything in that region.
