Relatively quiet weekend planned, although I have more overtime booked for next week, and the bloke and I are planning a trip out to the cinema, think we'll go to see the new Star Trek so need to buy vouchers from the work scheme tomorrow or monday afternoon.

Checked the bank and have had the pureprofile money paid in to my account. So that leaves

    £15 from toluna
    £40 one poll
    £50 newvistalive
    £20 mutual points

still to come and it looks like my phone contract cash back is payable on TCB so need to go claim that :)

Not having much fun at work at the moment, have been giving some serious thought to moving back up north again, renting my own place would save me alot of money compared to renting here - for a similar sized one bed flat I'd be looking at paying around £200 a month less, and jobs on my pay scale are relatively common so as long as I could find a job it'd be alot cheaper back home. Even things like petrol are currently 2p a litre cheaper up there than here. :/
Looks like am entering the period of tough choices again.

Right now I'm pretty set on the idea of moving back up north at the end of this term, so that leaves me with 12 weeks until I go!

Which seems like forever but no doubt is going to fly.

I know I have to give my landlady 4 weeks notice once I'm on to the rolling monthly contract but my rent month doesn't match with when I want to leave work so I need to ask her if she'll let me keep the place for an extra two weeks so I can leave work and here at the same time. Planning to phone/write to her about that in a few weeks.

Work are aware that I'm likely to be going, want to sit down and talk to my manager about looking for jobs within the company at sites near my family so at least I move with a job.

And have stuck another three box loads of books and DVD's on to assorted facebook selling sites, one of my friends in London is interested in some of the books so hopefully will be taking them to him next time I go in for a drink with friends (most likely early June).

  • Sounds like you have a good plan. Hope the landlady is helpful!

I hope so too - if not it'll take her more than 2 weeks to evict me right :rotfl:

Since posting earlier I haven't managed to get very much of anything done, unless cuddling nemo on the sofa and reading my kindle counts?

While bored at work I have done some back of the reciept maths and reckon that my fixed outgoings are roughly £200 each month being made up of credit card payments, finance on my sofa, phone bill and car related expenses. It feels doable to earn that from self employed stuff if I don't find a job straight away and am living with one of my parents. Equally I have a couple of months to reduce the cc debt so those payments are smaller.

So you're settled on the idea of going back ooop North, then? Seems like a good plan - and you've been thinking about it on and off for a long time.

Yeah I think so. I think going back at Christmas would have been for the wrong reasons - parents putting pressure on me etc and I'd not have been as comfortable with the idea of doing a bounce move in to a parents house until I have a job and out again asap. I suspect I'd have ended up sitting at 'home' licking my wounds for a while before I got my confidence back.

This time I think I'm happy and comfortable with it. I know finding a job is going to be a pain but lets face it whatever I do I'll be struggling to put myself in a situation where before I count my S.E earnings I have less than £20 left of my salary again!
