I am knackered, couple of days with Dad, dog and my sister at my house has been exhausting, but it's been really nice but I keep looking around wanting to tidy up again! But I can do that when I get home from work tomorrow evening and they've !!!!!!ed off and left me in peace.

I'm pretty sure I know where I want to go for my short break, just need to book somewhere to stay and decide what I'm going to do while I'm there - there are plenty of places to get out walking in that area and plenty of touristy things to keep me busy regardless of the weather. Just trying to resist the urge to convert all my outstanding survey points in to amazon vouchers and spend them on a DSLR as a treat for myself - something else I keep thinking about but then decide I can't justify since I'm unlikely to get the best use from one.

Short break booked, and an OS map of the area ordered from amazon - I have also dug out one of the pet's map cases. So all I need to do now is pack and make sure I have the address written down ready to set off after work next week.

Debating taking my lappy as the hotel advertises that it has wifi so I could get some of my usual 'stuff' done while I'm away.

OS map landed through the door this morning.

Had a really lovely afternoon yesterday catching up with a diver I knew roughly 12 years ago who is now working the same area as me - randomly met and swopped numbers as he doesn't do much diving anymore either and we both want to get back in to it. Didn't realise we knew each other previously until we started talking and realised he worked at a dive centre I used to dive with back when I was a short, fat, shy kid. Not that he remembered me, but I remembered him fairly quickly after that - he was like a god back then (and yes I had a bit of a crush on him, lol). Incredible afternoon chatting about mutual friends, places, and dive sites we loved/hated etc.

Twickers was cold and wet all day but with the aid of mssrs Kopparberg, Smirnoff and Ms Passoa plus a couple of actual real people I had an absolute ball without spending too much.

Really really should be packing for my trip away but am still sat on the sofa relaxing after a bath earlier.

I know what I need to pack but am massively torn about some of the stuff I want to take but will probably not even need but at the same time if I don't have it I definately can't use it.

meh on that note I'm taking myself off to my bed via the cupboard which contains all the assorted chargers I'm going to need to take with me and will pack in the morning before I go to work. :)

Is away, the drive down was horrid thanks to the weather, and I was a bit late setting off thanks to a customer/friend who enticed me in to the block for a brew and a chat before I set off.

Currently having a hot chocolate and a biscuit in a coffee shop/internet cafe before I head out to walk the coastal path.

My break was amazing, I've always been too shy/unconfident to do things alone before, felt silly eating alone etc, but I honestly can't remember why I felt that way now!

The walk along the coastal path yesterday was fab, got so lucky with the weather though - it was glorious, nice and sunny without there being too much wind coming in off the sea. Was out walking for roughly 5 hours and got back to my hotel with rather pink shouldes and face, thankfully they've settled down to a light tanned shade now. This morning on the other hand wasn't so nice so I sacked the planned walk after a couple of miles to turn around and treated myself to a big cooked breakfast for lunch on the seafront before I drove home. Currently meant to be writing the post cards to the family up north but it's seriously difficult to write something different to four people who live in only 2 houses about a holiday which lasted little more than 36 hours!

Risked a peek at my credit card statement earlier, it's crept up again but mainly on things which I know I can pay off when the money transfers out of my salary account, plus some which is owed to me for things I bought at the rugby over the weekend.

Last day of unusual work tomorrow then from Sunday its back to normality workwise, fingers crossed I can keep my semi regular overtime shifts as I definately need the money now.

And I have finally reached the end of the tether and decided it needs cutting. Easier said than done but it will be just as soon as I can do.

Paid £200 off the credit card, still have another £140 to pay off of what has crept up but most of that is owed me after the rugby.

I've also booked myself a spot on a dive trip early July, there's enough in my 'slush' fund account to cover the trip accomodation and two days on the dive boat. Just need to get my santander account to transfer the money in to the clubs Coop account as it keeps rejecting, if I can't get it working over the weekend I'll have to go in to a branch on Tuesday while I'm out mystery shopping and get it done manually.

Been invited in to London for dinner on Thursday too so need to see about booking my train tickets and check times, I know my friend generally stays near to Waterloo station so as long as I can get the last train he can pour me in to it and I should get home ok ish - can't decide if I ought to get mid morning train in though and spend some time wandering around the free museums since I always mean to but when I go in to meet friends we end up in the pub....or pub crawling along the Thames.
