I hate having to get up early! Still I've done a mystery shop which means I now have both a healthy lunch and some dinner in the fridge, and have done one load of washing which is currently hung out on the line to dry. I need to put a second load in shortly but the washing machine needed a rinse as I'd managed to leave a piece of paper in it with the first load.

Last two mystery shops done, need to write up all three shops but am about to go throw myself at a shower since I've been for a run and have been putting my washing in and out on the line as the rain clouds have been blown over. On the upside the bedding is in the airing cupboard so I should at least be able to sleep in my own bed tonight rather than the spare room - since apparently we only own two sets of bedding!

Plans are afoot...with thanks to the lovely Knitty Nora, who sent me to visit a website to look at volunteering opportunities where I found two which would be perfect for me, one would also do my CV some good currently in terms of adding some variation to it, the other just looks like something I'd really enjoy doing.

I'd also forgotten how lovely it is to sleep in line dried bed sheets.

Oooo...'citing stuff!! Let us know how it goes...

On an aside, really must learn not to skim-read these diaries - just read that you'd "forgotten how lovely it is to sleep in dried bed sheets" and was suddenly wondering just how far you take this scuba lark!!

hehe if the weather hadn't been good in the morning I would have been sleeping in wet sheets or in the spare room which currently has no curtains and a full length window next to the bed - I'm all for a bit of exhibitionism just not when its me!

I've not heard anything from either of the places I've applied but have my fingers crossed.

Currently researching wireless hifi systems, both my parents have Sony Gigajuke systems which appear to have been discontinued and I can't find anything similar at a reasonable price as I really dont trust myself with a system which requires me to not lose or break my MP3 player in order to play things - and I want to do away with the faff of keep changing CD's. I've decided that it's going to be my birthday pressie to myself/a wise use of any birthday money I'm going to get but it seems that almost noone makes a hifi with internal harddrive to store music on any more - unless I'm being very very stupid (which is possible).

couldn't you just get good speakers for your computer and have tunes on the computers hard drive? Or maybe email Sony and ask them what the upgrade of your parents system is

sorry you are beating yourself up, I hope it will sort itself out sooon

I tend not to store music on the lappy - its all on an external harddrive as I'm a nightmare for doing things I shouldnt and wiping data from it! So even something which I can plug a hd in to via USB might work - am out mystery shopping later on so will be visiting a Sony store and a couple of other electrical retailers for a chat and some more advise.

I've pretty much stopped needing to beat myself up for the time being, managed to take a step back and get some perspective thanks to some stern talking to's and wise words from Knitting Nora. Still plenty to sort out but I'm pretty comfortable with what I need to do.

Got my grass trimmer delivererd yesterday so need to put that together and deal with the mid calf length patch of grass after I've been for a run, and after the mystery shopping I'm thinking about taking myself in to town with the car to actually buy the patio set I've been meaning to get for ages.

    Grass trimmed :D

Something very satisfying about whirling the trimmer around and watching the grass fall over.....

Didn't quite manage to go do the mystery shops as I got distracted by shopping online, I've picked out and ordered a patio set - wanted to buy it in store but the boxes didn't fit in the back of my car so have ordered it for delivery. And instead while I was out bought a tealight holder and a mixture of citronella and plain tealights, I'm going to order an LED lantern too but the outdoorsy shop in the high street only had £30 ones in stock which was distinctly unimpressive!

After having spent weeks grumping internally about the state of my tea and coffee jars I've bought a new set too, as well as finally getting a bread bin.

I don't want to add up just how much I've spent today but all of it is things I've planned to get for ages and just never got around to finding.

*Slinks in* mutters about early hours and the 'walk of shame' across camp from my mates house at 6am being caught by some of the uniformed staff and knowing that there'll be grief regardless of it not being a true "w.o.s", and grumbles about having to go back to work for 9 hours with a hangover.

    *bounds in*

    I heard on the satellite dohickey grapevine that....oh, not a real w.o.s you say...well, that's dull! ;)

Hope the hangover gets ousted asap. "Ousted" - now there's a word that should be given some respect everyday....*wanders off to ponder the English language*
