Hi guys im fairly new here on the forums, this is my first post but i browse them alot.

I have seen a few posts about people setting targets for saving for 2012.

Now these are great ideas for other to use but my idea of for those on a lower income like myself.

The idea is simple, save £1 a day from now untill xmas 2012.

Either put it into a savings account or a box that you will hide away out of the reach of any temptation.

When xmas comes you will have over £350 saved up tax free to spend on those all important pressents.

For me £350 is more than enough to give myself, my partener and my 3 children a great day.
If i get her involved then it will be a £700 xmas bonus

I hope some people will be joining me on this saving journey

Remember it does not have to be £1 a day it could be £2 or even £5 if you can :)

Good luck all
Phil :rotfl:

p.s.

I decided to setup a little facebook group to make it a little more fun and easy to track/share ideas on how we have helped to not dip into it or how close we were to temptation :)

Since I cannot post links yet just search '£1/$1 a day' on facebook :)

This is a great Idea, and I have started this today too. I was going to make a seperate post about something im doing to save for next christmas.
I often shop in Tesco`s and if you do, save up your clubcard vouchers. They are valid for 1 year. Keep them safe till next christmas and use them for your shopping. We saved them for 2 months and had about £20 worth. now over the year thats £120 for food.

    Happy saving peeps.

We do similar but exchange them for goldsmiths vouchers at 4x the value for the last two years and use for/towards presents. Last year we had £300 towards Oh's watch and this year £180 for my lovelinks bracelet.
