  • I interested in the

Samsung UE40D6100 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 3D 200Hz LED SMART Internet TV with Freeview HD

I don't think I'm going to buy it from Amazon as it's cheaper at Dixons at the mo - £526.75 with free delivery. I'm not buying until the January sales anyway.:o

I'm also interested in Samsung UE40D6530 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 3D 400Hz LED SMART Internet TV with Freeview HD - Silver , but it's not black:D and it's way over the price I want to pay.
    :j I hope my comment helps :T

AndyD - don't bother reading comparisons online, look at the specific details of the models you're looking at, otherwise you're stuck with generalised and/or out of date information about fast-moving technology.
mickp - 3D?! You're caught up in the hype! You'll not be left behind in a few years if you buy a 2D TV - the vast majority of broadcasting will still be in 2D for years to come. You're more likely to be left behind if you buy a 3DTV now, as you'll be left with silly looking glasses that cost a bomb whilst other people might be watching glasses free 3D on their new sets.
tpowell - there is no 'best' between the different TV technologies, otherwise why would the other type still be made?! Christmas tree lights is a good example of the reflective qualities of plasma screens (they're glass) but then why are people buying all these glossy laptop screens? In a bright room, with too much sunlight coming in, any type of screen will have a problem.

Sainsbury's are advertising a 40" at a sale price of £249.99. Sorry I've been told I'm not allowed to post the link (it's like being back at school) :) It's a Celcus 40" full HD 1080p LCD TV and the item code is 122579516.

I've just been on the phone to them because I ordered one online yesterday and wanted to collect in-store today as opposed to waiting 3-5 days for delivery. It appears to be this price is only available online, because when the careline advisor checked which store closest to me has this tv in stock it shows up at £349.

Celcus is presumably the Sainsbury own-brand (their equivalent of Tesco's Technika brand)?
You are aware that these are just rebadging jobs and can have come from anywhere? The quality will be poor, and once out of warranty it is very unlikely that you'l be able to get spares or service for them.
Much better to spend a bit more on an LG or Samsung if you want a budget brand.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Yep it's their own brand. I've had a Technika for years but decided to go for a bigger screen and I've never had a problem with Technika before. If you haven't got the money to buy a bigger brand, you have to go with what's available. For me personally, it suits my pocket and my requirements :)
