No phones are faultless and I have had various iphones replaced for one reason or another guess it comes down to your own experiences.
Indeed, I'm sure that vivacity will serve someone admirably and they will be equally as pleased as the majority of iphone owners.
Pity the handset was not available at the time I got my HTC wildfire, I think I would have been more pleased with it compared to the Wildfire and saved a few quid0 -
firstly I would say, if you are wanting (and like) the iPhone then an android phone is not the same, no matter what price you pay for it (the exact opposite is also true)
suggesting a £70 android phone seriously? I hate to think what the user experience would be using a simple app like angry birds on it and how it will run it. specs are seriously not everything.
unfortunately when someone like the OP asks for suggestions for a phone all they will inevitably get are other peoples opinions, the the poster doesn't like WP7 then they would never suggest it even though it's eco system is the same as the iPhones.
the best advice I can give is if you are wanting and like the iphone then everything else is mute, if you are looking for an iphone like experiance then android and WP7 are very good options,
on the WP7 side all phone are very similar so choose mainly on physical design and screen size as the OS on them all is the same and all will run all the apps on the marketplace.
on android specs come into play a lot more, whereas the underneath is the same on all, the manufacturers often skin the OS and make numerous modifications this severely slows down any updates to the OS both in evolution and also security, if you are looking to use the phone for say playing games then you have to choose a phone that can run the apps you want, only a few low end android phones can even run a simple game like angry birds whereas all high spec one can.
you then have the choice if you want a nexus android phone or another one like the samsung G S2, the nexus phone will get all updates (OS and security) immediately.
best advice go to a mobile phone shop and have a serious play with said phones and their OSs, make sure you don't get sold a phone you don't want by some slimy sales person just cause they will get some commission, they don't care about you.0 -

I think the OP asked the right questions, is the 4s night and day compared to the 4? The loading of apps though somewhat confuses me in your post, for me to load an app, I simply log onto the market, find said app (pay for it if required) then press install, the app appears magically onto my handset. However on my ipod touch, I have to log into itunes store, click that I don't want the latest version , get the app (pay for it if required) then dock the unit and wait for the sync to complete
I agree though the OP perhaps should go for the iphone, not for the reasons peoaple have posted on the thread, but only because he has already seen one and he knows it will do what he wants (that is not to say other handsets won't) but he has his daughter to assist if he experiences any difficulties.0 -

oh wait badly worded sentence on my part, I actually meant how low end android phones cannot actually physically run some apps and most games (ie very low FPS), not the actual UI and process of buying of said apps, but it is also a good point on how the OS can also lag on low end android phones.
similar to this demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRkGPK--_Xs
you can buy apps and install them on device with iOS you know and it is the same process as android.

It looks like the vivacity is a similar spec to the ip4, however the processor speed is not listed , and I fear that would be the only shortcoming, yes the icloud now is available (an original android concept?) I don't know the internal architecture of any of the devices , but my midrange xperia ray is certainley serving me well0 -
Processor speed is 800.0

things in the android world are not as clear cut as say iOS and even WP7, with android a phone can have a 1.5GHz CPU but be slower than a phone with a 1GHz CPU, it also depends what the app was coded for, if the developer has written the app for say tegra2 (dual core 1GHz) then it is not a certainty that a 1.5GHz dual core snapdragon (a better CPU) would even be able to run it, this is what happens with low end android phones they often run a generation or 2 old CPU and even though the clock may be the same or faster than a high end phone the actual clock for clock speed is much much slower (the same is said for the built in GPU), much like desktop CPUs.
whereas iOS and WP7 only uses a limited amount of CPUs meaning that developers can code apps over all the devices easier and the actual clock speed doesn't really matter.
also you could install apps on device on the iphone since apps first came out, well before iCloud.
ps the xperia ray runs a 1GHz scorpion snapdragon, a much much better CPU than phones underneath it, I have said before but something mid range ~£150-£250 is the sweet spot for android phones, you get a modern CPU which can actually do stuff and you get the updates to newer OSs (xperia ray is confirmed to get ICS next year)
just take a look at it's comparison to the vivacity0 -

That almost sounds like the xperia ray is not a bad proposition
I note it has a GPU Adreno 205 whatever that means on the graphics front0 -
as I just said, that means nothing, what architecture is it and by who? that's what matters.
ps where can you get the vivacity for £70? it's £99 from tmobile.

Vivacity is £100+£10 at t-mobile with £40 TCB cashback.0
