You don't need cream - it's an English addition :D Same as cheese and most other stuff as well.

This recipe, if you want one, doesn't have cream in it. And not too much bacon either.

It's not exactly easy though, is it :o:rotfl:

You know - that does look lovely and I want to give that a go. Looks a bit healthier than piling on the cream :D. I've put the bacon in the freezer and the eggs are use by the 14th Jan so it can wait for the weekend I think.
For tonight I've got mince out of the freezer and use the leftover celery and onions to bulk out a chilli con carne. Everything in stock for that. :)

One final spend of £1.24 in Mr S today - I was craving some salad to go with my lunch today so bought cucumber and tomatoes.

    Declaring £137/£200 this month.

I'm pretty pleased with that since I know I'm planning my meals (especially breakfasts and lunches!) better. There is always room for improvement though, since this included a couple of takeaways so I'll gradually decrease my budget each month until I meet my 'ideal' limit.

    See you over in February....

Sadly, I overspent yet again, by about £63. Hmm... oh well, maybe February will be better!! Well done to all who have more discipline than I do!

Hello all... everyone else is declaring their totals and I'm afraid I still have a week left!

My running total after this week's shopping plus party food over the weekend is £353.06/£500. Hubby is picking up some painkillers and nappies today, and then next week there will be another weekly shop which is budgetted at £60, plus a trip to the butchers which I allow £20-25 for, so it looks like I'm going to come in way under :T :T I shall have to set myself a harder target next month!

Winchelsea I'm so sorry for your loss. Rip Bill and I hope you are left with many happy memories x

Happily declaring on £42-22/£60 for January. Eating out of cupboards and freezer has really paid off. But still have loads in store so will be changing tack in February, setting budget higher and costing in anything I take out of stores. That will give me a truer picture of my consumption :)

    Hello :hello:

I don't think I was officially 'in' for January but nevertheless had set a budget of £200. It appears that it didn't do me much good however and so I am reporting a measly 8 NSDs and spend of £462.86/£200 for January.

I have set my budget at £250 for February and am already starting to get myself back on track. Most of January's overspend was because of unplanned meals, unnecessary meals out/takeaways, and mindless snacking and coffees

That's the way I'm working if the items were in my stores pre 1/1/2012. Anything bought from then on has already been charged to my GC budget, so is effectively 'free' for later months - but should give me a pretty accurate figure over the year :)

Declaring now £24 under budget and well stocked due to the Whoopsies so £24 to go into holiday fund.

I have so much in I could drop the budget for Feb but have decided to keep it the same so that I can take advantage of offers and stock up for March then put any left over for the holiday fund.
