  • Reporting a spend of £4.04 for today. Met friend for coffee and used loyalty card for free drink then realised I was not going to have enough milk for tonight's mac cheese to drove to waitrose as it was on my way home (not my usually shop as too pricey but I wanted to check their reduced section) and paid a little more for milk but got some reduced stewing steak, enough to use and freeze a portion for another meal. Got home and updated my meal planner -a must for trying to do this properly - and I have enough meals now until the 8th feb. so will just need little bits, going to freeze milk to see if that keeps me out of the shops. I think not knowing what I was going to have for dinner was my downfall and sometimes an easy excuse for a takeaway! Keep reading that many of you bake muffins and as I have an un-used muffin tin I am going to find me a recipe as I have some frozen raspberries in the freezer!

Gorgeestwo ditto! Can't stop thinking how different our life would be if I'd cottoned on to MSE forum advice years ago. Never mind (big sigh) perhaps I can sort things out before we retire :rotfl:

NSD for me - hope I can make at least another one before the end of Jan.

Just a small spend today - 45p on a daily mirror to get the aldi coupon. Spending the £30 on saturday will take me over budget but will help the annual budget so I've decided to allow it! I am currently selling on ebay so if I make £30 then I will offset it - cheating?
    44 day challenge

Managed a NSD today (about time) and I am planning for another one tomorrow as I am working late.

Not sure what to have for dinner tonight as I was suppose to be meeting a friend for dinner, but due to the horrible weather, it has been cancelled. I need to have a root around the cupboards.

If you use the £5 voucher you are only spending £25 and if there is anything you use,the 30% off vouchers could save you even more,
With the vouchersI used I think I saved around another £4.Plus I bought 6 bottles of wine which were about £2 a bottle cheaper than I would have paid (birthday pressies) So I think I have had a very good return for my 45p paper.

    reporting another NSD :)

Managed to catch up with the thread, but my eyes and head are hurting now thanks to the changes on here (even on the less bright option), so I am probably going to have to bow out of the GC now :(
Good luck to everyone, it really is amazing what can be achieved with all the fantastic support on here :T

I'm finding it really hard on the eyes too...... have you switched to the "stretchy" option? It is a bit better - esp on a widescreen:

I was wondering if they would use the vouchers together with the offer - thanks for the tip.
