i havnt had chance to post have been sooo tired with new job and working through the night i havnt totally adjusted yet,day off today so am currently making loads of meals i got up about 9pm had tea, made the filo pastry pizza thing off the tele it was srummy but i made ours with pepperoni, chorizo, tomato and mozzarella and tomato purree will definatly be making this again and oh really liked it(he can be quite pickey):D.
all from stuff i already had in so thought i would batch cook some meals for me n oh during the week
ive made spaghetti bolognaise x3,chicken korma x3,daube of beef-well thats what i call it i had a small joint of beef i got from work so chopped it up,added mushrooms and onions and onion gravy, chuck it in the oven for 20 mins then add half a bottle of red wine let it cook for another hour then add the rest of the wine and some more gravy granules and let it cook for another hour, the meat is always tender and tastes lovely the original recipe i found says add carrot and peas but oh doesnt like carrot and i dont like peas so do without but always tastes lovely so made x3 of them.just made chorizo and pepperoni pasta bake x5.
also made a ginger cake for oh to take to work with his packup.just some cheese and onion pastys and mini pizza's to make if i can find a recipe for pizza dough hopefully will have the stuff in to make them.
yay me i have had a productive night hopefully will be able to fit it all in the freezer when its all cooled down.:rotfl::rotfl:
right am off to put a wash on,clean the bathroom then i may watch abit of tele.
hope every1 has a good day.:)I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0 -
gonna be making an spend from my budget today - going to a cheapie store so hopefully wont spend much though i do find sometimes i end up buying more junk food cos its " cheap" but then the prices add up really quick!Learning to keep within budgets !

Morning everyone,
Well done on the batch cooking lemmings ! Can totally sympathise with the night working - DH is on his run of 8 at the moment. He's totally on another planet for the time he's on nights, definitely can send you a bit doolally ! :rotfl:
Am feeling much better today, no 'episodes' - just a waiting game now for a cardiology appointment, hopefully it'll come through fairly quickly.
On the plus side, I'm owed two days holiday and since there's not a lot for us to do at work at the moment (currently setting up a bigger and better store but the builders are behind) they've given me today and tomorrow off :j.
I think I'll do a bit of mealplanning, shopping-listing etc in preparation for next week. It'll help with weight watchers diet too, if I know what I can eat then I'm ok, it's when I don't plan that I fall off the wagon.
2nd purse going well, popped a bit more back into it this morning, yet another packet of cereal open. If the kids stopped eating, I'd be rich !:rotfl::rotfl:.

used another couple of bits from stock today.... namely a tin of M@ M@de and a couple of bags of sugar, but the tin had been purchased on a B2G1F offer and the sugar had only cost me 10p per 1kg bag due to the fact it was sold through the staff shop (before I left my job last Nov) after getting damp - so the 1.8kg I used had a couple of huuuuuuge sugar lumps in it :rotfl:
So that's approx 6lb of marmalade for £1.19, and IMO it's the closest I'll ever get to the stuff my paternal grand-mother made which I absolutely adored - so worth every penny even when I don't get the ingredients on special offers
signature updated to include those costs
Thanks for this. It has reminded me that I have a tin of this stashed away and am running short of marmalade. Will dig it out and get making some.Slimming World at target0 -

Morning all, wow 26 pages since I last posted , doubt that I will be able to catch up with how everyone is doing but I will try.
I have managed to rack up 5 NSD's since I posted last Thursday, only needed to get bread yesterday so £1.00 spent. Having another no spend today making a total of 14 for the month so far :j.
Freezer stocks are holding out reasonably well but will need to start looking around for meat offers to stock up. Was disappointed with Lid! offers this week - I enjoy the occasional sausage but don't eat them very often, but will go and pick up a Loin Roast, had the one with mixed pepper topping a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.
Hope everyone has a good day, off to read a few pages before I get stuck into the cleaning.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Popping in to [STRIKE]skive from exam revising[/STRIKE] update on spends - £10.48 in Asda. I got.... wait for it..... 9 boxes of cereal and a bag of frozen peppers.
It was the krave cereal that little miss fm enjoys so much but I hate the price of! £2.68 for a box of cereal, I mean really! :wall: And the peppers, well, they're far cheaper weight for weight than fresh. I use handfuls of them for soup or other recipes where they're gonna be cooked anyway - fresh are reserved for fajitas or snacking, or other really quick cook dishes where crispy, crunchy veggies are better than hard-cooked.
Asda Krave - 3 boxes for £3
Dinner tonight is moussaka - found in freezer, behind butter mountain :rotfl:
Tomorrow is chicken, chorizo and butter bean bake
I still have to do a freezer inventory - not sure I'll post it hereand spends are updates in my signature.
I'm also wondering whether or not to make a donald russell order :think:carolinerunner wrote: »Linz - defo do the stock thing, it's really worth it. :money:Makes great gravy if your DD likes that, and if not you can use the 'gravy' as sauce for a pie filling, or just use the stock for cooking potatoes in (recipes at start of this thread),as well as soup, risotto etc.
aberdeensaver - thanks for the coconut curry recipe, shall try that soon :T0 -
Hello to all,
Haven't posted since Friday (I think) but have been having plently of NSDs and have been keeping up with my reading of the thread. Really enjoying this challenge, must get trying some of the recipes. One week left for me of this budget so think will manage ok, but do need nappies and formula so it'll be close! Need to update sig tonight.
Thanks for all the support x0 -
Morning everyone
I had a NSD yesterday but today went to Mr T to stock up on bread, milk, eggs, cat food, washing up liquid, spaghetti and some veg so £19.93 to add.
Mr T are giving £5 voucher for £40 spend at the moment, our store never usually gives out these vouchers.
They also had a 2kg bag of red lentils for £1.99 in the world food aisle which I think is a good price, I may be wrong.
TraceyOfficially debt free :j0
