ETA: And OH just phoned to say he's coming back from the shops - why?! We don't need anything! Think I need to train him more...goodness knows what he's coming in with.
My OH is just the same. Think I'm having a NSD and he comes home with shopping. Did this today too- £3.63 in Ald*. But it was on things I was going to have to buy in the end anyway- fruit mainly- oranges, apples and kiwi's ( for making sorbet) and we were running low. I think he's going to MrS after circuit training to see if there's any whoopsies worth getting- I think he's addicted:rotfl:so may have even more to add to my total:eek:Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

NSD for me today or so I thought.
Had a 2nd cup of tea at home this morning and opted for coffee machine coffee (free) rather than tea from the canteen at 54p.
And the pasties I made where the recipe was wrong have turned out lovely according to DH:D
DH made my tea tonight as I was out at college. However he didn't use the half tin of baked beans I opened yesterday but opened a new one and DMIL had fed DS and also opened a tin of beans. Both tins were bought with my 2nd purse so I need to add £1.28 to my total to repay my virtual purse.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Another 2 little shops to add on DH picked up 6 faggots from butchers for a pound blooming lovely too faggots n peas for tea, and 2lt ss milk £2....for both bits still on target as cupboards n freezers full .... fruit bowl not looking too healthy tho so will need a top up soon...march Grocery Challenge 2012 £187.00/£285:D
Weekly spend 11th march £0.00/£20.00

Amazingly he only bought a can of juice in the end, so I think I'll write that off! At least he phoned and listened when I said we didn't need stuff, which is a good start! It usually ends in bags of Doritos etc coming home...:pFebruary Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500 -
NSD for me today, had to buy petrol but that doesn't come out of my budget - might add it to next months and keep the same budget, see how I do.
I have been using a seperate purse with cash when I go into shops/supermarkets and it has definitely made me think more about what I'm spending. Fingers crossed!GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100 -
Had a look round the VAST new Te$c* in Crewe, blimey. But no amazing opening offers, sadly.:( Bought milk, f&v plus a new £1 plastic chopping board (old one so stained, and small light ones are so handy) and a lime green towel for £3.60 to go with my lovely lime green Herdy (sheep) tea towel. Sad? Who, me?! Anyway it was covered by a £6 voucher I got today from He1nz to make up for a rather nasty tin of beans I got the other day. How very generous of them. :T
Then just £1 for 4 microfibre cloths at Mr A and (!!!) £3.85 on farm shop bacon - sent DH who said it wasn't worth going for just the amount I actually wanted.... made the potato, bacon and onion hotpot from the list of recipes at the start of this thread, as DS2 was getting bored with mash and frankly eats very little of anything, and let me tell you it was a HUGE hit (almost as huge as the new Te$c0 :rotfl:)
Signature updated. Almost recovered from the nightmare of setting the oven to clean overnight and forgetting it was as filthy as it was - smoke alarm went off at 3am and the whole place stank, I thought the rabbit would be gassed and we'd all sizzled up in our beds. :eek:Thankfully not, but never again at night, despite economy 7. Oops0
