I need to ask a question, do I include my second purse spend in this months grocery or do I start to include it when I use it?
I bought 24 loo rolls for £6.99 today but I don't know which budget this goes towards. I'm assuming I deduct the £6.99 from the 2nd purse fund, then add £0.42 to my grocery spend everytime I use a loo roll? Is this correct?

Thanks for the advice, ill take it out of next months budget. That way i wont be cheating! (too much)

The one thing I want to avoid is putting my budget up as this is a challange for me without being unrealistic. This is a good comprimise :-)

This is what I found last year ..... I would see a great offer, stock up & overspend in say Month 1 but then forget to take the extra off Month 2's budget..... so although I might've stayed just within budget then, I was still spending more overall than I should've been over the year.

It is not such a hot deal if you really can not afford it or budgeted for overspends, you could take from next month but then you will always be playing catch up.
If you can in future months set a small amount on to one side as a back up (can be include as part of the monthly budget) for the times you see offers, that way you stick to the amount you have budgeted for.

Great idea! I've switched to an annual budget now and any underspends in a month will be put into a "budgeting pot" to help with the stocking up/overspend months ..... (doubt they will be any this month tho' as it's a 5 weeker:eek:)

Was really hoping to not set foot into a shop for the rest of the week but won't have enough for breakfasts without resorting to porridge - which I love, but may mean the milk won't last until the weekend .... will see how it goes!:)

Hi, i believe thats how it works, i think whats important is that you have a system that works for you. Im on annual budget, so i divide what i want to spend per month, over the year and aim to put some aside in a pot for big shops, hopefully keeping within budget, but if not, i still have a long time for it to even out. I think someone else just said something similar (oh well great minds)

Hope you're warm and well :) Had to pop out for a loaf of bread today and ended up buying sweets for DS and cough sweets for DH and spending 4.15 - better go alone next time !!
Anyhoo, I've added it to my total.
Me and DH are going to go to A*di again for our weekly shop this week, the meat we've had from there (beef mince, stewing steak, gammon joint) was all lush, we are A*ldi converts!!!

Great, stir fry it is. Think I have noodles and a sauce in so perfect! :T

I forgot to say yesterday adysmum, if you're ever in doubt when buying meat how to cook it the butcher will normally be able to advise. It's another thing I like about my local. ;)

    All the best,

I made a 7 seed bread yesterday using the above recipe and added
    # 2168

    White Poppy seeds
    Black Poppy seeds
    White Sesame Seeds
    Black Sesame Seeds
    Linseeds
    Sunflower Seeds
    Pumpkin Seeds

    Yummy ☺

Probably cost me about 40p or so, worth doing your own bread as it works out so much cheaper, if you are short on time the first rise can be done over night in the fridge, either add ingredients to the first mix or allow to rise, knock back and then add the nuts, seeds, fruit etc.

Wher do you get your seeds from please :D
