Popped into MrT, got some soda crystals (water is is really hard, and this washing machine needs to last us) some dishwasher tablets (now have enough to last me until roughly the middle of feb) pack of apples, pack of tangerines, baked beans and some new potatoes.
Came to £11 something but I paid 60p
Checked my receipt and saw that I had been charged £2 for the oranges but they were on offer for £1.40, went to customer services and they refunded me £1.20 :D
    So I made 60p :rotfl:
    NSDs 7/20

    grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£399
  • Hi folks, spent a fair bit from the grocery budget today, but should last a little while as I made the most of offers. I spent £12 in ice**nd, bought pataks korma sauce for £1 so got two and white sauce for lasagne also £1. As I get better at budgeting and being more organised I will try making my own pasta sauce and white sauce.

Just finished an online order through My Supermarket, and sainsbugs came out the cheapest spent £41.44 that did include the £4.50 delivery but getting to sainsbugs in a pain in the bum and I spend less if i'm not tempted walking around the supermarket. so thats £53.44 for this week. Hopefully won't need anything else until the weekend.

We had beef brisket for dinner last nice which was sooooo scrummy and will be making beef and onion pie with the leftovers for tonight. so another scrummy dinner and very Old style too :A lol, have a great afternoon.

  • I,m having real trouble sticking to my budget already! Have spent £97 from my £200 budget for this month. The cupboards are full but its all the little things that send me to the shops every 4-5days....milk, fruit and veg. ( £8 today on milk and veg I know I,ll be back for more in a few days.)Was thinking of giving £ 10pw from my budget for milk etc? My husband works away most of the week so in theory £200 for myself ,toddler and baby should be plenty. Was thinkng of trying to get milk delivered daily wud this help or work out more pricey?

On a more positive note my other challenges are going well and my little 2 year old is doing well on the potty training! Will save about £20 a month on nappies!
No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!

    Afternoon all :D

Popped into Sains this morning, first time in ages (partly because i've not needed anything and partly because our local store has been revamped and is hideous now and also i'm convinced more expensive) spent just under £20 but did get 4 Jacob's cracker varieties boxes (anyone remember the "tickets for cheese" sketch by Harry Enfield? :D ) for 74p each, some aero christmas trees for the kids for 10p each, 2 honeycomb choc oranges for 50p each (well I will tell dp I only bought 1... burp..) etc and a tin of Victora biscuits was £2.40 so there are some treats to get us through to payday on friday, :D This is why I don't go to Sainsbury's / tesco anymore, it's too anonymous and easy to buy loads of rubbish, if i'm at Aldi or Lidl I don't do it,lol (I use self service tills at the others).

Got the last of the 4 bird roast leftovers out of the freezer and will make a pie for tea with white wine sauce.

Do you have much freezer space? I buy a weeks worth of milk and bread at once so I stay out of the shops. For me it's habit where I would drop the kids off at school then wander round the supermarket before going home xx

    Hi All

    Some spends to report

£2.69 on Special K from the corner shop. Expensive but I didn't get the chance to go to the larger supermarket (I usually get the equivalent own brand version), and I didn't fancy the only other option for breakfast (toast and jam). I've always hated breakfast and get bored easily so I need to make sure that I have lots of choices in, to keep me on the wagon. Previously my 'breakfast' consisted of a coffee and cigarette, but obviously this is changing now. :D

Also £4.91 in Mr T on what doesn't seem much. I really haven't used Mr T much at all since their disappointing 'Price Drop'. I won't have enough points by the end of this month to get even the minimum £1.50 voucher sent out quarterly. If they send me some vouchers to get a certain amount off £20 spend for instance I'll go back though....

    Have updated signature.

On that note, I'm holding off any 'big shops' for the moment. I've used the discounts off first orders for Tesco, Sainsburys and Ocado, and am waiting to see if Waitrose do another. Their last one ran out (save £20 when you spend £100) on the 31st December, and they haven't updated them since.

If they don't update another one within the next couple of weeks when my food gets seriously depleted, I'll use a free Sainsburys delivery code. I find online shopping makes me manage my money MUCH better.

Keep up the good work everybody. :T

Hi can I ask where you get your free sainsbugs delivery codes from?
