Assuming you mean an ambulance chaser then yes - you will get EXACTLY THE SAME REDRESS but you will then have to spend anything up to half of it paying them for doing absolutely nothing that you have not done already.0 -

Mine's been with the FOS for 4 years Holly. All I can say is, I utterly sympathise with you and I can see why the ambulance chasers would be so appealing. I feel like jacking mine in tbh. 3 and 4 years is ridiculous0

I feel so sorry for you both that is such a long time to wait, what are the FOS reasons for it taking them so long?0

Hello there rocketman80 and holly22,
I work for the Financial Ombudsman Service and am sorry to hear about the significant amount of time that you've both been waiting. Generally, the ombudsman service is able to sort out the majority of complaints we receive within six months - but some do take longer. We are continuing to receive record numbers of PPI cases - but, it is unusual for a case to take over 18 months to resolve.
If you are able to email me at: forumresponses@financial-ombudsman.org.uk with your complaint reference numbers or names and postcodes, I would be happy to look into things for you and see what is happening.
Many thanks,
Emma

Not been given one Nutty, just a runaround constantly. "its in a queue" being the regular reply.
Although, it is nice Emma has replied and I have emailed her. So, thanks Emma.0 -

I know what you mean, I took out a Firstplus loan but I am having to claim through the broker Central Trust, my case has been with the FOS since July 11 and I get frustrated with that. I hope you get your money back soon.0 -

I just wanted to share my story with the claim against Central (don't) Trust through FOS. My journey started back in November 2009, when I contacted Central Trust directly, and within a few weeks, they send me their final response saying 'sorry, there was no mis-selling of PPI, this is final, please go away'… or something along those lines…. so I contacted FOS in March 2010. three months later (Jun/July 2010), I was contacted by an adjudicator who concluded that I was mis-sold of PPI. Central Trust replied…'no there was mis-selling' but as a token of how we valude our customers, we will offer you 'a proportionate rebate' (since I had already paid off the loan)…which translated to something like 'here take this fiver, and shut up'. Because the previous adjudicator had left her position (due to overworked and stress i am sure), another adjudicator took over in Jan 2011, and he wrote a couple of time, stated that my case is in the queue for Ombudsman's review. Then in July 2011, got a letter from a new adjudicator, and she said, she had another look at my case (while waiting in the queue for Ombudsman), and she wrote again to Central Trust after the Judicial review, stating to them that I was mis-sold of the PPI. Again central trust came back and said "NO". Lastly, my case was eventually being reviewed by the Ombudsman in early December 2011, who found the claim was in my favour, and had given me (to accept their decision) and Central trust (to just pay up) to respond by mid Jan 2012. I am sure this will go on a few more months for Central Trust to pay up.
So this story is just to let people know to
1) be prepared for a long journey
2) eventually justice will prevail
3) be patient
Thanks and happy new year to everyone here on MSE
So here is where0 -
We took the loan out via Norton finance ... And FOS are now tring to go via the actual insurers whic I think are Cassidy Davis which is part of lloyds I think . It's a tad confusing FOS keep saying they are looking into it !
I have all paper work ...no record of phone call as weren't recorded then ...just computer print out of operator, no where did they say I would be paying insurance over the whole loan0 -
First plus , norton finance or insurance company who is to blame ?? Seem to be getting no where0
