My OH was seriously embarrassed by me in Halfords. He had asked me to look up 'Fault Code Readers' for the car on t'internet and hadnt realised that I had discovered
a - what they were for
b - what they could do
c - how much they should cost according to the various functions they had
so we went into Halfords and OH asked for the Fault Code Readers (as they seem to have hidden them)
The SA finally found the single example
Me - Thats the ONLY one you have?
SA - Yes
Me - ok - does it just read the code or does it display the fault?
SA - er um er I dunno
Me - Well its a £135 - I would hope it not only reads the code but displays the fault and deletes it when its fixed - does it do that?
SA (going bright red) not sure, I will go find out.
Me picking up the pack - reading the back.........S**t love - dont buy this - all it does is read the code! not worth the money.
SA comes back
SA - Yes it does all you say
Me - No it doesnt! read the back of the pack! I can get one on internet which does all I asked for and its only £35!
Husband has slunk away by now and is sitting in the car!
SA - I would get that one then madam!
Me - (bluddy hate being called madam by SAs) I certainly will - and by the way, the Trades Descriptions Act would be interested in your interpretation of 'It does all you ask for' - cos thats a blatant lie!Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.0 -
meritan :T:T:T I so hate when they think they know but don't actually, we did this a while back having spent what seemed like a lifetime researching our TV, when we went to Comet we had all the speel and the more I asked about what the features were the more the SA was just slucking back into himself, it is so funny to see a grown man wishing the internet never existed when his customers come in:rotfl::rotfl:0
