wildfire running slow.. next phone
Hi im getting fed of my htc wildifre running slow, takes about 30 seconds to load the inbox, sometimes up to 2 minutes to send a text, frequent crashes.
it wont delete big text threads it just crashes and asks to respond or wait
i am currently on 02 simplicty pay and go but would like a contract with a better more capable phone, looking at something like a htc xe, xl or samsung galaxy s2
i like the old iphone 3gs but i guess this is old and outdated now and the new iphone 4s is simply to much, so any advice would be apprectiated i want something fast and smooth that wont run slow and crash
thanks

I'm sure the instructions suggest to switch the phone off to clear memory, you can also do this manually, sadly all fancy handsets may crash from time to time, but all will have memory restrictions and it is up to you the user to manage the memory, move what you can to an sd card and keep internal memory to minimal useage.0 -
Good advice from DUTR. Make sure you have a memory manager app installed and use it frequently.
Also see if Wildfire lets you put any apps on your SD card if you have one and also delete any apps that you never use.
I have 2 cheaper androids and this sort of housekeeping really helps me.0 -
Often a backup of data and factory resetting the phone can clear rubbish out of the system .

i find the wildfire really sluggish and not very good. there is a lot of lag when playing angry birds for example. i am trying to upgrade asap as it is really frustrating0

Obviously Android is not working for you. This is the problem I am starting to get annoyed with having run Windows Mobile/Android for the past 6 years... just becomes a chore to keep the handsets running nice, though a daily reboot does help (and when they run well, they are fantastic). I'm starting to become of the opinion, I just want a phone that works consistently, even though I am a self-confessed geek lol.
You would probably be better off with an iPhone or Windows Phone device to be honest, they don't suffer from this "geek" crap. I'm jumping ship to WP once the Nokia 710 is released.0 -

How come the majority don't suffer these shortcomings? And iphones suffer lag too, never used a windows phone but the early ones were geek machines0 -
Problem is its not Android at fault its a low end phone hence slower more sluggish . Much like a £150 IPhone model would be .

Windows Phones are a pretty slick bit of kit and the UI makes a very refreshing change to the Android and iOS experience so I would check to see what apps are available for it and put that on the list of potential phones to get.0

Not sure they would price match down to £30 as 3 does offer very good tariffs for the money however make sure you get coverage everywhere you go as you might come across black spots where you get no service.0
