happy new yr, hope you all enjoyed.x

i need your help guys, its my mums 60th on 21st jan so only gives me 20days to make something for her. i have odd bits of material here and odd wool.

You could go and buy some dried lavender and make some little lavender bags to put into her drawers and a few with ribbon sewn in as a loop to put inside her wardrobe?
They smell good and moths hate lavender :D

Something handmade is always lovely! i made some flavoured olive oils for christmas. Got some nice bottles and had garlic in one, rosemary and thyme in another :D very nice gift! xxxx

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

  • Elysia She was snoring away upstairs, so I did managed a few Malibu and cokes! was a good night, at least i haven't got the banging headache and hangover that some have!.
Just woke up to a few surveys and have been racking up the cokezone points although the rewards have gotten rubbish. I used to get the £5 boots vouchers, now it's gone a bit pants!. :(

Just opened an E-savings account with my bank, so looking forward to tucking Christmas money away in there.
hope everyone is enjoying their first day of the year!! x

Hi - Happy New Year all.
To Elysia (and any others re Amazon
Roland - I've never tried Amazon - but if it's as easy/good as you say, I might be tempted to give it a go. :D
I used to find it great - list everything and then just forget about it - only charged if they sell. GAmes are no problem - one word of warning with books - they only allow you £2 something for the postage - so if you have a heavy book you could be out of pocket - we learnt the hard way!
Some things not worth listing if millions on there already - just check as you go along - we've got rid of no end of stuff that way - but remember - only very light books!

  • Sadly Elysia this module is online, all the reading is online, the leaning contract I have to fill out is online and the assignment itself is from the contract which is online and the questions I have to answer in the forums is online too. My eyes don't hurt as much now so I should be able to crack on but with a poorly toddler screaming in my ear I have no idea how I am going to get on. I figure it will either get done or it wont so either way just do what I can and not worry, I hope.

Awww Savvy - DD is poorly too? What a shame! I hope you both feel better soon. x

Tibawo - Well done hun. Get them all out of the way, (there won't be a lot out there today) and then enjoy the rest of your day.

Roland - thanks for the advice. I'll add it to the first posts. x

    Happy new year everyone

I am working my way through the list of sites to sign up to and have been doing surveys etc this morning, I need to look into seeing if I can get another bank account opened and also need to shut my post office account and request the funds from there. I only opened it so I could pay in bags of coins as there was no limit but they arent doing it at the post office anymore so no point for me, will have to find the book as I cant remember how much is in there.

I have lots of games that I am going to list on amazon and must get back onto the ebay thing, one of my resolutions is to try and list 5 items a day but need to remind myself of the fees as I havent done it for a while.

  • My chow has shot up by £16 too  actually made me jump as i did not add a review yesterday so was expecting my £2.98 to be sitting there lol. I only got 4 E's for the whole month so was not expecting anything but the only thing that makes sense to me is the PF.

Last few weeks have been really bad hubby lost job, then our car blew up and we have been told £600 to fix so best to scrap. Hubby got some mad idea about doing it himself hes knows nothing about cars so i am really trying to get him to understand that is not possible but hes not listening and driving me mad.

Now we are in the middle of a village no car and 12 miles to nearest town, I have 4 doctors appointments this week alone and there in glasgow so 60 mile trip round with 3 kids  have to go cause its a specialist appointment but just not sure how we are going to do it.

Also our old landlord is giving us grief telling us hes not giving us our bond back as the carpets are dirty , well we have been there nearlly 5 years and they were already 4 years old when we moved in so what does he expect.

Things can only get better eh :p if i dont smile i will cry lol xx

Mum2three - Blimey you've had a run of bad luck lately - like you say, things can only get better.

Well done Candy - five things a day is pushing it a bit hun. When there's not free listing - I start mine off at 99p (no fees) and if it's worth it, it will find it's value anyway. Sometimes I'm shocked by how well things do. I put something on at £2.50 (on a free listing day) because I knew it was worth more than 99p, but doubted I would get a fiver for it, and it went up to £43 plus p+p. There's always the risk there, but as there are less competition, things should go well.
