Hi elysia...hi everyone else...had a busy year moving house and everything. Lost off from a lot of survey sites just because i forgot to check every day, kept up with pinecone and ipsos but am hoping to be reminded of all our money making survey sites by signing up on here again. I have taken up sewing this year and have been able to make some nice presents for next to nothing this year :D

I need to be money neutral next christmas. Bought some nice christmas cards already for next year...half price from morrisons and have already put away some things in the gift drawer that to use for other people throughout the year.

My fave sale is when boots do their 75% off sale half way through january. I just get loads of gifts and end up saving a fair bit.
  • Hi everyone I'm a bit of an MSE Lurker but am on a mission to save as much as possible & be as thrifty aspossible in 2012. Infact I am dedicating part of my blog to it - I'm not sure of the rules but if anyone fancies a read I could PM you the link. Off to Asda in a min with my 2 kids, no spare cash this month so won't necessarily be looking to buy gifts but DS1 needs a dressing gown & I could do with some slippers.

QD had lots of half-price chocs yesterday including Chocolate slabs for 49p with a Best Before of September 2012.

  • Good afternoon all :D

It's gone 3pm and I've only just managed to connect to the internet . DH spent over an hour on the phone with Sky support people, they said it might be a problem with the modem and we have to test it at someone else's house. I think we're going to switch to Virgin media soon though, is anyone else with them?

To the people who have asked about money making and working full time - it is definitely possible. When not on maternity leave, I work full time and have a 4 year old. I manage to fit in quite a bit of money making in the evenings when DS has gone to bed. I know I'll never make as much as some of the ladies on here, but that's fine as I can't put in anything like the number of hours they do. For example with the recent Chow promotion, lots of people have made £80+ whereas I've just got past £20. I'm still really happy with my £20 made as I see that as one birthday present paid for :D. The main thing is to not compare your money making with other people's. Some people have the time to go at it like a full time job so they will always make hundreds more than people who can only do maybe an hour in the evening. Whatever you make is fantastic and will really help at Christmas time.

I managed to write a few new reviews for Chow yesterday :T. I put one on last night and I'm probably going to add all the rest today, just in case I can't get back online tomorrow. I know I'll look like a churner but it can't be helped.

Baby news - now 3 days overdue. The scan yesterday showed a 'slightly bigger than average' baby but nothing to be alarmed about apparently. I had a big talk with a very nice doctor all about the pros and cons of c-section or normal delivery and she also answered lots of my questions about the tear last time and chances of it happening again. I have decided to go for a normal delivery so we're back to playing the waiting game! I'm feeling awful today though, hopefully that's a sign that things might happen soon. I've had really bad back ache and shooting pains down my tummy any time I move too much. I'm lying on the sofa now and DS is lying beside me watching Harry Potter, I'm not fit for much else today!

Oh Elysia - I got some raspberry leaf tea. I've been having it for the last couple of days just in case it might work.

    Debt-free and Proud!
I was mainly a lurker here last year but had a great Christmas following all the hints and tips . I feel happy knowing I did not put a thing on a credit card and most of what I did get was at reduced prices and paid for by doing the s*rv3ys etc

Looking forward to doing it all again !

  • oh good luck Nicky, hope it happens for you soon.

Seems a life tme ago I was waiting like you but it's only 8 weeks. Time really flies when you are busy.

Nothing worked for me to get baby started and unfortuantely needed a c-section after a very long labour, but raspberry tea is meant to be good x

Just curious. Has anyone else had a letter from Kent Uni to send 4 tesco receipts for £20 voucher? Part 2 of a toluna survey i think.

Sambamamba I got this letter too, more than happy to send them my receipts, only after I've scanned them for S&S though! I have only a vague memory of the original survey, don't suppose you remember what type of voucher it is?
  • Thanks boatgirl and mum2three :) My son was 2 weeks late and I was induced with him, I really want to avoid that happening again as it was a really long, delayed labour that ended in ventouse and all the other lovely things that happened to me. If I could just go into labour myself this time I might actually believe that things could be better and not end up with me being rushed off to theatre after the baby's born.

I've just popped another toy review onto Chow and done a bit of rating over there but not much else going on really. I've not had any surveys at all today, if I remember rightly things are usually a bit quiet December/Januay time. I might spend a bit of time on T'Luna next as I've got around 30,000 points on there as a head start :)

First though, my Lindt choccies are calling me from the kitchen cupboard!
