  • You could just have the chart if you want, its up to you. You don't have to have either, I was trying to help.

I'll take a piccie in a minute and then its up to you. The kit is brand new and I'd not even opened it. I was hoping to do the full set. I'm in the middle of the Spring Angel at the minute and have the winter angel to do next, with the autumn angel after when I saw the post, so thought I'd try and help you out.
St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”
  • This is the picture of the chart I was going to swap with you. Its in full colour as you can see. The threads that came with the kit aren't DMC or Anchor or the like, but they are pre-threaded (which I personally love as I hate deciding which colour is which on a kit!).

The material is 14ct cream Aida (I think its Aida). The Spring Angel is 14ct white, which I thought was a bit strange, but hey ho.

Anyway like I said I was only trying to help

  • Thank you for the congrats everyone :)

I actually did some stitching last night, I'm finding it very hard going though because the blue is 4 strands and the green is 5 so it takes a bit of effort to push the needle through! The blue is nearly finished so I might do a deal with myself where I start with a patch of green then get to do some of Santa at each session :o

This is what I'm stitching http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Checking-His-List-Stocking__DIM-8645.aspx

    This is my progress

Thank you so much for finding the time to take a picture and post it and I'm really sorry if I have offended you in any way.
I was just asking about the kits, because other than someone mentioning Chinese versions on here recently, I've never had any experience of them personally. In fact, unil they were mentioned on here, I had no idea that such things even existed.
It does look like a lovely version of the kit, but if you wouldn't mind terribly I think I would prefer to carry on looking for just the original chart. I'm not too good with coloured charts - find them more difficult with my eyesight than symbols.
I fully understand as you said that you were trying to help and I do appreciate that.
I think that because I have just worked from the L&L charts for all the others and chosen my own evenweave fabrics, that I need to carry on that way with this one too, as it completes the set. Put it down to my OCD!
If there was a chart on my list that you would like, please feel free to let me know anyway as you are very welcome and I feel really bad that you have taken the time to dig out your kit and photograph and post it and everything for me to look at.
I do hope that you enjoy stitching yours and that we get to see your progress from time to time.
  • Its stupid question time, so please bear with me!

I've recently bought one of those pens that you all use after seeing them on here, and after looking at Moomummy's stitching above, I really need to get started with mine. The only thing is, and I know its going to sound really stupid, but how do you actually do it??

I must apologise too. I didn't mean to sound huffy in any way - think its the PMT - I've been like a bear with a headache and toothache all week, so I do apologise.

I understand about the chart/kit and thats absolutely fine.

Are you prepared to sell the Summer Angel Chart, and if so, for how much?

I've only just started cross stitching again after many years, so I only have the 3 Angel designs and a Country Companions chart at the minute, so not much to swap with unfortunately

Mine is actually marked out with fishing line as I found the pen difficult to get out of my last piece. I had to soak it in the bath all day with some soap flakes to finally get the last traces out but I have another barely started piece of stitching which is ruined because the pen has left yellow lines all over it :(
