Lousie - I'm so sad to hear your news and hope that his treatment allows you all to make lots more special memories in the time you have.
It's so hard when you need someone - other than family to talk to. I know it's not the same as your special friend, but hope you take some comfort from all the love coming your way from us here.

I never realised how many beautiful cross stitching blogs there are out there. Stupid really as I know of loads for papercrafting.
I also found lots of nice freebie charts, including the blackwork sheep that I was after. SHEEP
Basically went online to do some research on biscornu and got sidetracked.
I should have been actually making something or doing something, but instead I've been waylaid again.
Never mind, the tea is well underway and oh is watching the rugby.
  • Benny, just emailed you the ;) Hope you enjoy them!

Have managed very little cross stitch over the last week as have been unwell with sore throat and related symptoms. have been incredibly tired and little appetite so have done very little other than sleep and veg on the sofa.

Did start the margaret sherry design that came with Cross Stitch Card Shop so may do some more of that later - depends on what we watch on tv.

Have been browsing sew and so and like the look of the peter underhill cat designs and the new anchor tatty ted kits. might have to pick something to cheer myself up :D

Not cross stitch related but would be interested to know if you knit ? am after some pompon wool (by rico I think) at a good price. Cheapest I have seen is £8.99 on black sheep wools - ebay isn't much cheaper?

You're not being a pain! That's the one I have, I found the smaller one does me fine, it's got 2 different sized sides on it anyway and I just roll and pin the excess fabric.

Ok so I have been looking at this lapframe and my befuddled brain is confused. It mentions you have a working area of 11 x 11 inches also 11 x 8 inches but I can't work out whether the 8 inches is along the bottom or up the side (does that make sense ?) or can you have it both ways ? now even i'm confused!

Louise - so sorry to hear about your dad but really good news about your mum. It sounds as if it's a blessing that you have the holiday booked as it's something for your dad (and the rest of you) to focus on in a positive way. As has been said by others if you want to talk you know where we are.

The width is 11inches so the 8 inches is top to bottom. So one side is square or you flip it and have a smaller rectangle for smaller pieces of work.

Thanks - It is the holiday we cancelled in October because he was going into hospital so I'm chuffed to bits that they are coming with us - it will be lovely for the kids to spend some quality time with him as well :)
