flat eric: (sorry I quoted it wrong on a tab so it didn't quote properly)
    More off topic
Are any of you fans of sudoku or other japanese themed puzzles ? (kakuro, enigma (as it used to be called - also known as linked in (I think) mosaic, hanje etc?)
I like Sudoku but like someone else has mentioned only really do it when i'm on a train or somewhere with no kids around.
Not too much of a fan of the electronic versions - I don't like being told I got it wrong I prefer to waste 10 minutes trying to work out why I have 2 3's in one line :rotfl:
Chicky - PP is amazing - your niece will be thrilled. What colour/size/count of sparkly aida do you need for IF? I may have something suitable and I rarely use aida now

the full chart on 14ct would need to be around 60x38cm apparently.
However as long as I had the 38cm width it could be shorter as I'd only do one verse.

So this brings me to my poll. Have you ever been to a cafe/pub/restaurant or similar, ordered and eaten meals but left without paying? and if you have left without paying is that because the meals were so awful, they didn't justify payment or simply because you fancied a free meal ?? :D

Ermmm actually I thought I hadn't then I remembered when I was training to be a nursery nurse the place I was working at all went out to a pub chain (hungry h0rse) for a christmas meal.

Not only did we get a partial meal (they had run out of some elements like pigs in blankets and had naff all desert choice) but waited around 20mins for coffee.
we eventually gave up and went to stand to pay.
stood at the bar (practically empty) for 10 mins before loudly (deliberatly) discussing between us whether anyone was going to take our money and how far we would get before they realised we had left without paying.
    5 minutes later.................left.

would you take your cross stitch into a major sporting event ?

Don't do sport so probably would as it'd be the only thing keeping me from falling asleep should I ever be unfortunate enough to be dragged to one.

Where is the most unusual place you have stitched?

    can't recall anywhere unusual (sorry).

OHHH I like that birdhouse but it looks pretty large and detailed.
I don't think I'm dreaming but the christmas word has started to appear

I'm all out for Christmas prep now lol. there is a thread incase anyone wants to join me over there.

    :eek::eek:WOW:eek::eek:

Reminds me of the article in one of the mags a couple of years ago where they had stitched a tapestry motifs for every significant event/ place over a long period of time (50 years?).

I won't get distracted by hunting it out now but will at a later date if anyone wants me to.
Faeries and flutterbyes (butterflys) go hand in hand imo :p

you mean I'm not the only one who calls them flutterbyes?

    Now.... little dilema......

Should I stitch the smoke from the planes in neat red, blue, white or in verigated thread??

I just think verigated will give a better more natural effect but am worried it won't be quite as bright.
It's only 14ct aida as anyone stitched 3 threads a stitch on this? debating 2verigated/ 1 normal to try and get the colour to be a bit more striking?

was going to get the threads from here - 2 for £1.80. I have the blue already. was thinking 4020 (or 4015) for the 'white'. (was thinking 4010 but just googled and thats more lavender apparently). and 4130? for Red.

    Views please. ta.

flat-eric I love that bird table design. It wouldn't normally be my cup of tea, but I think its lovely. I hope someone decides to stitch it so we can see it!

sweet-carer I love the free flower design, but is it only me that thinks the vase looks like a woman's bits??

subtle-minx I'm so so jealous! I was actually watching these myself on Ebay, but sadly couldn't afford to splash out.

gildius - Absolutely love your design and can't wait to see updates. That is going to be absolutely stunning when finished.

No stitchy updates from me I'm afraid. Still filling in the white on Winter Angel's skirt. Still quite a bit to do of that, which is why I think I'm dawdling a bit. The only good thing about filling in is that I can watch the soaps without worrying too much about making mistakes.

Once the skirts done, just the wings and thank goodness its finished. Think I will give the Angels a rest for a bit after this one, after this I will have done two in a row, time to do something else me thinks.

Still looking for the Wolf design, but not having much luck. Can't think of what else to google it as.

Aw thanks everyone! The kit is Chinese (I do not understand the instructions, but it's fairly standard) - I went to China a couple of years ago and they had whole shops dedicated to cross stitch! They do massive kits for pretty reasonable prices (this one was about £25, I kid you not!).

I actually ordered this one through a Chinese website, but it never came, then a couple of months ago I found it again on Amazon with an English seller, and I just couldn't resist.

I've made one about half this size before and it took me six months, so I'm guessing this one will be about a year, probably more (I tend to stitch off and on).

    Glad you like it :D
