I'm thinking of starting my own business now!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Wouldn't it be great to just have an excuse to stitch every day and call it 'working'
Those pictures are incredible, but I don't think much of the actual subjects, not my thing
I have a horrible feeling the poor women who stitched those to be sold will be only paid about 15p a day or somethingCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Did you read the story of the embroiderer on this one (the last one you listed)? Apparently she is nearly blind from working on this and needs the money from selling her work to pay for hospital treatment. How true that is I don't know, but if you scroll down in the listings you will see that these are massive pieces of work! And here am I struggling and making mistakes with my Mother's Day 'Fizzy Moon' card!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

I hadn't paid too much attention to that one so didn't realise just how MASSIVE it is!! I'm quite inclined to believe she would be near blind after that mammoth piece, she would deserve every penny.
Did you see the pics right at the bottom showing the back of the work...omg...so neat!!
I feel rather inadequate at taking so long to get my HAED completed now:o

All I can think to say is Hells Bells and I'm in the wrong job! :eek:St. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0 -

Be interesting to watch these and see if they do in fact sell or not. I guess if they don't - don't give up the day job just yet!
I think sometimes that any sort of crafting is way undervalued generally and it's only when it is deemed to be art, or you are a "name", that you can hope to achieve a price that puts a proper value on your work. Interesting that they've included the word painting in the title.
I was on holiday in Madeira a few years ago and bought a completed tapestry from a "factory" rather than the shops and it was pretty obvious that the homeworkers must have been geting paid very little for their work.0
