Malcolm, please remember a dog is for life, not just for Christmas. I hope Fifi is prepared to give it all the necessary love, affection, care and exercise that it needs. She does not sound like the most responsible of women from what you have said so far and I would be concerned.

Back on topic, do you have the keys? If so I would see nothing wrong in continuing to move in, if you can clear enough of her belongings out in time. Perhaps her son over the fence can help. Does he live in a house or a shed? Either way I'm sure you should be able to do some decluttering. You may also be in luck and find yourself some nice food in the cupboards - even a Christmas turkey perhaps?

All good words Lavendry! I think we should all remember that some things are for Christmas and we should just go along with them. :)

On topic again, how are things at your parents? Are they likely to throw you out soon? They probably had big plans for their fifi free christmas!

I think that blocking in the beer fridge is a chucking out offence at Christmas particularly. You may indeed need that caravan.

Indeed a dog is not just for Christmas, with careful menu planning one can make it last until New year's Day - unlike turkey which seems to blasted well keep going until well into January :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Fifi is very responsible in fact she is a lot older than me. She has always wanted a 'toy' dog so I though what better to christen the new house but a pet pooch. Its only 20 weeks old, but the dog seems to want to nobble my toes. I should have bought a female dog. Mind you, the accessorises that the dog is now equipped with is a little girlish.

Back to the house situation, we are going down shortly and will knock on the door!

Yesterday, due to delays in the chain, we exchanged and completed on what we thought was our dream home. It is a modest two up two down but after living with my parents for years, Fifi and I decided to buy our first home. It was owned by an elderly person on her own, so it smelt and needed work doing.

Not very ambitious then;) Get the windows open for a start. Anyway...

    Not long we hope.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
