Ok, im prob sounding very thick here but i have a massive habbit of buying thiings for myself and then never wearing or using them.

I do also sell used bits n bobs like baby stuff and just my junk that others might have a use for so i know the used bits wont be liable for tax.

Im just worried because of the heaps of stuff that still has tags on that i list, even though it was origionally bought for me or my family. What would you say my situation is here?

I do also have stock from my Ann Summers rep days that was all fully paid for by me but all has labels and pricetags intact.

Do you think i am just being silly here or do i really need to be concerned?

    Thank you!!!!!!

PS..Im not registered as a business though as i only list about 10-15 items absdolute max per month.

if its just bits and bobs from around the house....no problem

if you are buying huge amounts of stuff specifically to resell on....maybe.
  • lol,:D true, but knowing my luck i'll get accused of tax evasion even for not doing anything wrong:eek: - well at least i dont think i am.

I am going to collect as much information on here from your frequent boasts about how much you are defrauding the tax man and send the details to the HMRC suggesting that it would probably be quite easy to track you down via your IP number and ISP.

I’m striking a blow for honest taxpayers.

    It should be fun. :D:D

    Get on with it!

    1. Have you never heard of anonymous proxy's and
    2. Do you really think I'd use the same PC and internet connection for my Ebay trading?

As for defrauding the tax man - :rotfl: . You seem to have missed the posts on how much tax I do actually pay.

The problem with you lot who are obsessed with my alleged "tax avoidance" amounts to nothing more than sheer jealousy.... and I'm loving every minute of waving bait in front of your fat eyes and you grabbing it time after time after time.

I bet the Ebay user ID search engine has been working overtime looking for "Snooze Control" this past few months with the self-righteous do-gooder's trying to find me to "dob me in". :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

If you are not defrauding the tax man, why do you hide behind anonymous proxies?

You have proudly boasted that, although you pay tax on your main income, you don’t pay tax on your ebay and other sidelines.

You are just the type of person the taxman is targeting. It may take them a while to catch you but one day they probably will. You should be putting an emergency fund aside for the day you get caught and have to pay their estimate of your fraud, probably doubled as a penalty, and maybe a few months in the cooler. :D

A wise and sensible man would not openly boast as you have done. A wise man would just keep his head down. That is why I actually believe you are just a spotty teenager working in McDonalds with an ebay feedback of 15 for !!!!!! purchases and sad computer games. :p

The problem with you is you actually believe people are jealous of you. :D

Pitty theres virtually no way of them proving some sellers arent just selling their personal belonging though.

surely it would be pretty easy to check ebayers who are consistently selling new items?

i private seller might sell the odd new item - maybe an unwanted cd or something - but if the seller is consistently selling new items then i would imagine it would be up to the seller to prove they are NOT dealing...

I don't. Where did I say that I did? I merely said if I really wanted to "hide" then it could be done.

Nothing "proud" about it. You're right in that I only pay tax on my main income, yes.
You are just the type of person the taxman is targeting.

I disagree. The tax man has got bigger fish to fry. We've been through this before. I hear the same "the tax man is really gonna be clamping down on Ebay trader's this year" over and over again and nearly 8hrs trading down the line and nothing's changed.

Highly unlikely. Firstly, if they ever come knocking then I have the funds to pay if need be and also have a complete record of my accounts and everything I've sold. As for the penalty and stint in the cooler - :rotfl: . Knowing some folks that have been nobbled for non/late payment of taxes (not Ebay related), the worst you'll get is a slap on the wrist and a couple of hundred quid fine.

There's no "boasting" about it. I still stand firm in my belief that the tax man is not interested in small time trader's and will continue to play that record until I see evidence of your "average" Ebayer being caught for not paying tax. It'll never happen.

If your previous claims are to be believed, you are running an ebay business and failing to declare your earnings from it. You might even be liable for VAT registration. As you frequently boast of paying large sums in PAYE tax on your main income, any earnings from your ebay business may well be subject to tax at the top rate of 40%.

I assume you mean 8 years and not 8 hours. That is a lot of back tax you owe. Every pound of tax that you dodge is one pound stolen from me and other honest taxpayers and now I’m out to get you. You have left enough clues to be easily traced.

Our prisons are full of criminals who thought they would never be caught. :D:D

Tell that to lestor piggot ;+) (although I can't remember how much evasion he was done for).

I am in agreement here can't see how this tax bot is really going to catch anyone who isn't a very big trader and very stupid in how they operate.
Taxman would have to identify anyone slighty suspect approach ebay probably with a court order (or similar) to obtain contact info & sales info past the 30 day mark etc.
And given that the tax payer is being defrauded to the tune of billions every year via carousel fraud which HMRC seems totally snowed under by and unable to prevent - don't think snooze has too much to worry about.

And before I get flamed yep I do pay income tax as ebay is my only income.

But if you come on here Snooze and start boasting about your expertise in carousel fraud I'll be right behind Avoriaz ;+)!
