Bramble - Yes,you're quite right,I explained that to him on Monday-he said he would cover the extra cost so we wouldnt lose out.Hmm..Bitsy_Beans wrote: »Rosy I'd be wondering what was in it for them to be using the EA they suggested. Let's be honest it's not like the purchasers would be required to have a great deal of contact with EA after initial viewing, it all gets put in the hands of solicitors them.
run a mile from them, too many people seem to play games with house buying
xx
To be fair, when DH rang that EA he didnt seem keen at all to get involved. We said if he just gave us his solicitor he wouldnt need to deal with our EA,but have heard nothing at all.Think they are just a couple of weirdos who get off on causing problems,& youre right about people playing games:mad: We just wanted to salvage the sale if we could as it would have eased our money worries a lot
Hope you feel a bit better after your cry (((Hugs)))
Got my gammon in the slow cooker, and wrapped the last of the pressies.DH mopped all through downstairs, and got all the plates and cutlery ready,so we're not too bad now.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all,
Everything is done !! OH DD and I have worked all morning, house looks spotless and all the veg, spuds etc done for tomorrow. I just need to set the SC up on the timer and put the meat in to come on in the early hours, I then finish it off in the oven and its delish.
Going to have a nice hot bath and wash my hair, and then relax for the rest of the day.
Rosy, so sorry you are being mucked about re the sale of your house, I hope it all works out for you hun xx
Bitsy and Candy, please dont be sad
, sending huge hugs and kisses to you both xxxx

Afternoon all!!
I have -
Cleaned everything downstairs that didnt move fast enough
Cooked turkey, gammon, veg soup,
Peeled carrots, parnsips, potatoes & butternut squash
Took out of the freezer cocktail sausage, stuffing, salmon mouse shpaes, prawns, gravy and bacon.
Been to @sda to 'panic buy' more turkey and gammon (its ok I always do it - 'never knowingly under-catered' will definitely be in my obituary :rotfl:)
Kids are bathed, hair dried and in clean PJ's
And I have openend something fizzy and mildly alcoholic to reward myself for being so fantastic
That gorgeous man of mine popped home from work at lunch time with lovely flowers too.
I feel calm and very content.....which is a worry in itself as it usually means things are about to go t1ts up bigtime!
Bitsy - christmas is what you make it; if you cry it will be tearful so smile and drink alcoholic beverages and it will be smiley and slightly blurred around the edges

Well I've had a productive Xmas Eve despite being distracted by great Christmas films on tv!
I have:
- peeled and chopped all veg
- cooked a swede mash
- par boiled the spuds
- made a nut roast
- cleaned lounge and moved dining table to accomodate everyone
- emtptied bins
- DW on
- currently making a lentil pie too (just putting finishing touches to it)
- just started prepping the stuffing balls
So tomorrow I'll only have to cook everything and reheat the nutloaf/lentil pie, and make gravy

Well done everyone, we're nearly there.
I've peeled 4 kilos of sprouts, parboiled 140 potatoes, peeled far too many parsnips, made 70 pigs in blankets and assembled all necessary glasses, non-alcoholic drinks, tablecloths, crackers, napkins etc. Am now going to put my feet up for an hour before it all kicks off again. Someone donated a turkey for the dinner for the homeless tomorrow. It weighs 40 lb! I am so glad that I'm not turkey monitor.
Rosy, don't have anything more to do with them if they are time wasters. My EA says that he doesn't know what buyers are thinking these days, none of them are willing to commit themselves. My friend has sold her house - well, exchanged contracts - and at the buyers express wish arranged to complete and move on Jan 6th. She has therefore arranged removals, legal bits, booked ferry tickets and has just learned that the said buyers have gone on holiday without signing the last bits, and won't be home until the 6th. When she got them on their mobile they seemed very surprised and asked why it had to be the 6th! Her EA is tearing his hair out.
Bitsy - don't worry about not feeling Christmassy, sometimes circumstances just make it impossible. It's only another day and you just might look inside yourself and find a little bit of Christmas lurking there, just for you.
Right, am going to recharge my batteries. Suggest some of you do the same.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening all,
Didn't think I would get on today, but have managed to get everything sorted and am plonked in front of the tv with something fizzy and alcoholic:D
So between us the house is sparkling and all the veg prepped ready for tomorrow. Have cooked a piece of beef and pork defrosted ready for cooking in the morning. Have made a Malteser Cheescake and tested a little piece delish:D and a strawberry trifle.
All presents wrapped and dining table pulled out and extended and garden chairs cleaned and added on the end.
So the hordes descend about 12 ish tomorrow, can't wait really.
Rosy sorry to hear you are being messed about, I suspect we will have all this to come in the new year
JC I also got some lovely flowers from my fab DH. We don't buy each other presents but always have a special celebration on New Years Eve as that is the day we met, 29 yrs ago:eek:
Well off to watch Outnumbered Have a lovely Christmas Eve and a lovely peaceful Christmas Day:santa2:Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
