I don't post often at all these days, but do pop in to read and catch up. I'm as ready as I'm going to be, think I've got everything but if not it won't matter. Today starts the big cook so I shall duck out again, but just wanted to wish everyone the Christmas they want whether that be quiet or noisy, intimate or bulging with people. Happy Christmas! You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Morning all,
I had a good lie in today - 9.30am! So although a late start I have little to do today so am not panicking.
I must hoover and mop today, althouogh I've been saying it since Wednesday, I need to sort the chickens and hose down the yard and that's my lot. So once they are out of the way I can sit and eat Quality Streets and watch Christmas TV.
I think I'm prepared for Christmas, and I have no intentions of going out so if we don't have it - well tough! I'm still not feeling particuarly Christmassy due to family arguements rumbling in the background but I'm determined to enjoy it. I find though, that the ones you're forcing yourself to get through are much, much harder than those casual lazy ones and I suspect there may be tears at some point.
Anyway, enough moping and misery from me - have a Fabulous and Wonderful Christmas all and a Happy New Year!0 -
Morning! Made it to Scotland at about 3am didn't sleep in the car, don't trust my brother and sister driving!! Woke at about 7 as I realised there are 5 of us sharing a bathroom and my brother takes FOREVER! So had to get in early.
Think shopping is on the agenda today, found £20 in my bag I don't remember who gave it to me! Which is a nice surprise!
Hope everyone has a lOvely stress free day

Morning all,
Sorry, havent felt like posting really, weve been having problems with the people buying our house, and I cant see it going ahead.I dont think they have any intentions of completing as 5 weeks after we accepted their offer they still havent given the EA their solicitors details  They came round on Monday to say they had problems with the EA and wanted us to use another and brought us a business card, but still wanted to buy it.DH rang that EA yesterday and had a good chat-seems like theyve done this before:mad: Despite giving us a letter with email add,& both phone numbers they havent responded to any messages. Our agent thinks they are a couple of crackpots.Shame as our purchase was going well, rang them and asked to put it all on hold till after NYear. We've already paid £400 to the solicitors,I doubt we'll get much back.
Anyway, doing my best to put it out of my head for now, though DH is fuming and thinking of ways to plot revenge :rotfl:
In addition to all this going on DS2 was attacked last weekend,5 yobs came at him & his mate with a chain at a ATM,just wrong place wrong time, hes 6'4" but you cant argue with a chain. His cuts and bruises are going now,and hes got his replacement phone-just really upset because it had a lot of pics of his baby girl on.DS1 who is more of a techie has gathered together lots from other peoples phones and FB and put them on the new one :T.
We went on the market for our turkey yesterday,16lb,and I've taken the gammon out of the freezer too.Veg & spuds in the freezer ready done .House just needs a tidy ,then DH wants to go to town to buy me a pressie, nearly always leaves it till the last minute :rotfl:We may go for a drink later but not decided yet.I still want to make some mince pies and cupcakes.DB2 and family are coming for the Christmas meal tomorrow,so need to get cracking really.
Hope everyone is ok-hardly caught up with you all this week.Hugs if youre not.xxxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Rosy - they can't buy through another agent as they were introduced by the ones you have your house in with. If you went ahead you would be liable to pay commission to both agents!!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Merry Christmas lovely people. My NY resolution is to get back into my OS-ing & so post on here daily.

Rosy I'd be wondering what was in it for them to be using the EA they suggested. Let's be honest it's not like the purchasers would be required to have a great deal of contact with EA after initial viewing, it all gets put in the hands of solicitors them.
run a mile from them, too many people seem to play games with house buying

time to dust myself off and get on with it. Have a hug lovey xx I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

esmf that's a lovely thing to do!
moorhen brilliant news about your friend!
rosyred grrrr what !!!!!!!! glad DS is okay though
Morning everyone. I need to wrap a few presents today, do my hair and er not much else. Might go to the nhs walk in as my foot actually feels worse after 3 days of RICE and i've always wanted a strap on moon boot for christmas... NOT! xmas eve is always quite slow, by xmas day evening I feel like a caged hen and can't wait to get out! I will ring around and see if anyone is free for a drink but I know a few will be with their little ones and everyone else works in a pub or shop so I'm not very hopeful. It's funny how from one group of friends at college we are all at such different stages in life, some of us are at uni, one is engaged, one just bought a house with her boyfriend, one is pregnant and another has two kids!!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
I just got good news!
My iron levels are almost the highest the midwife has seen
No infection.
Seems it was either dehydration or low blood sugar... so I'm eating and drinking more today and Roo is more active with it... so I feel relief now!
Merry Christmas all
