Boots 1/2 Price Sale

Boots must do pretty well out of their sale - I never saw/heard an advert for the 50% on sale on t.v/radio/paper etc this yr - nor do they have to send out emails (well I never got one and I am a boots.com customer/own an advantage card)
People just know its the sale through sites like this/word of mouth and stuff gets snapped up pretty quick at 50% off online (and some stuff in store)... then when it comes to the 75% off sale, they rely on the mystery of it all, what will be left, when will it be etc - people are going in and out of stores to see 'whats left' and reporting back on here/to friends & family... whilst popping into the see 'whats left for the 75% off sale' they may buy a couple of bits and peices they needed (not everyone, but I have)..boots makes more money...
Then the 75% sale comes and the hype and mystery of it all means people rush to the stores and stuff sells really well (I'm guessing?!) - Whilst boots have the customers in their stores for the 75% off sale customers are likely to again pick up small bits and peices they need for the convenience of it (I know I would!).
Quite clever really! They don't even need to advertise their sale which must save ALOT of money!
Still excited for the sale tho lol:j0 -

To be honest I think its only fair that staff get first dibs, I have worked in retail before - its lots of hard work for very little money.0 -

Just phoned Trafford Centre and spoke to someone in Fragrances - so not very specific but she did say there were lots of gift sets downstairs.0 -

Well I'm going to the TC as its easier for me than Market St. I know it's horrible since you are going to be at M St, but I'd be delighted if they've moved stock to the TC as M St had more stuff this Sat than TC. There were loads of empty shelves at the TC yesterday eve, all ready w labels for suntan lotion. It may have been a trick to camouflage new sales shelves?! (I can dream....)
Like the Ikea bag idea!0 -

Boots.com sale has ended
Due to unprecedented demand, Boots.com has now sold through all of our remaining sale stock. However, the half price sale is still continuing in our stores. Hurry, stock is selling out quickly
Just read this on their website.0 -
I've been in 3 Boots stores this evening, all had 1/2 signs still up- i was in them all within 15 mins of them closing. Now that makes me sound like a Boots stalker.
The big Eldon Square store in Newcastle had tons of stuff left and 2 cages of stuff that wasnt on the shelves (i presume to be put out for tomorrow). The jewellery was already on 75% off. A lady from the No. 7 counter was putting all the No.7 stuff from the sale shelves in to a basket, presumably to move it.
Both Washington Galleries and the smaller Eldon Square store had sale stuff but not much. Small Eldon Square had about twice as much as the Galleries so worth a look in if your in town for the big store anyways.0 -

I have a Boots very nearby and with a young baby I'm in there a couple of times a week so I prob spend a fair bit of cash in there - I'm planning to go after the school run tomorrow although I brought most of the bits I liked in the 50% off sale I will go and see if I can pick up a sanctuary set as they had plenty left the other day.
Having read the thread though I have to confess I'm a bit scaredwith talk of peeps taking their own bags to fill and taking holiday so they can go to the sale perhaps I should equip DD with a suit of armour
