We had a mouse die behind a kickboard in the kitchen. It's a smell like no other and not one I'll forget.

Two more things to try; stale water in the bottom of the rubber door seal to the washing machine, and something left in the microwave going mouldy!
  • Get your friend to check in the toaster, a friend of mine discovered a dead mouse in hers:eek:

I wish you lot'd stop going on about mice. I've had one in my kitchen for a while, carefully avoiding my traps, and I'm paranoid about the blasted thing keeling over behind a cupboard and ponging the place out for days.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

We once had this problem, did all the usual, cleaning, moving, searching with no luck. After a week :eek::eek: we tracked it down to the cooker. A mouse had climbed up inside the back between the oven and the overhead grill and had electrocuted himself on the wires!!!

It really was a horrendous smell, and I do not think my kitchen has ever been so clean in our attempts to find the source :)

Our house had been empty for two years when we moved in. It is a very rural area and at first we had lots of problems with mice. The same thing happened to us when a mouse killed itself inside the back of the cooker. The only reason we pinpointed the problem was when the cooker started to cut out and trip the fuse box.

I will add to the mice stories I'm afraid!!!

My friend had exactly the same problem. She, like the rest of you pulled the place apart looking for the source.
She eventually found a dead mouse inside a pile of folded tea towels. When she had looked before, she had obviously lifted them out in a pile and didn't find anything and put the pile back!!!!!

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...
