Help please.........nasty smell in Kitchen

Hi I have been to my friends house all day nearly.Went to drop off pressie and have a coffee. when we got in the kitchen I thought I was going to be sick  there was or rather still is a really bad smell. She said its been there for the past few days and she cannot find where it is coming from. So we have spent the last 5 hours trying to find it . We have
pulled everything out and washed the floor ect where the d/w etc is standing , emptied every cupboard out and washed them. Its not the fridge / freezer emptied and washed the bin out , you name it we have done it and still cant find where the smell is coming from. Or from what part of the kitchen either.:mad:. She is trying to mask the smell with smelly candles as she is SO embarressed. Have run out of ideas. It is definately in the kitchen, oh and its not the sink , its just a really nasty smell.Hoping you lovely ladies and gents may have some suggestions

Try the washing machine outlet pipe.

  • Once we had a mouse sneak into the kitchen and conveniently die right under the freezer; took us ages to find the source of the smell.

can you not pin point it a little bit, like is it worse near a certain appliance or area of the room? Could it be something that has dropped down behind somewhere and gone off? The fridge? dishwasher pipes or filter? Damp?

my mum had a small leak , damp/mauld had built up behind the false back panels of the kithen units , possibly remove the kickboards in places and sign a torch to see the wall behind

I think it is worse near the fridge area, but when that was emptied , cleaned , moved and the whole area cleaned we went back in about half an hour later and it still smelt really bad

Oh no, it is a puzzle lol. I guess bicarb might help neutralise the smell but it won't really help long term unless you find out what is causing it. I soooo want to go round and help you guys lol it is annoying not knowing!

Did you look underneath the fridge? Have you taken the kickboards out and looked under the cabinets?
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

We spilt milk in the fridge,it went into the waste and stunk for days,we had to keep pouring water in the fridge drain and it went eventually.
