Odd Earrings

Yet again I've lost one of my current favourite earrings.

Whenever this happens I always hang on to the other one for ages, just in case the lost earring turns up again, but it rarely does.

However, I can't for the life of me bring myself to throw the odd earring away and I now have a jewellery box with lots of strug earrings and I haven't got a clue what to do with them.

Does anyone else do this, or has anyone got a clever idea to use them all up?

Sal

  • Yes i got a great way. If they are real gold put the lot of them on ebay. I recently sold 3 broken gold chains and a broken gold bracelet for £80 not bad ey?
  • Yeah i agree..you never know someone on ebay may be looking for a missing one just like you. If theyre gold as well u might be able to make a bit of extra £££ back!

    I'm exactly the same btw.....

If you can take the earring bit off, maybe you can thread it on a chain and use it as a pendant instead. I've done this a couple of times as I'm always losing them!

I have taken mine to the jewellery quarter in Birmingham and they give you scrap gold value for them - better than nothing.

My friend often wears odd earrings.....very few people notice!
  • my uncle has them melted down by a jeweller to make into a new piece of jewellery.

Or, you could use them for making into a necklace sometimes.

Or, the art department in my school asked for things like that for them to press into clay to make imprints with. You could donate them to a school, or do this with kids you know.

  • If the odd earrings aren't too valuable and have no scrap value, consider making a felt cutout of a Christmas tree and using the earrings as the decorations, or hang them on a mini tree (twigs sprayed white?) for a different table decoration.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

  • Sympathy from me here. I am always doing this too and it drives me mad. I bought a fab necklace and earrings set fromvirgin vie as a big treat for my self and it was v expensive, got to the night out I was attending and had lost one earring. Was gutted as now have never worn them and they were £18:mad:
