Well guys, in an attempt to change the subject..

I was given a huge bag of beef suet. I have just had casserole n dumplings for the first time (using suet, that is) and want to ask how you guys use it up.

I just saw a recipe for figgy pudding on google and am even more eager for figs after seeing Lalas piccies.

Why not try a suet crust on top of a casserole or add sugar and use on fruit insead of crumble or spotted !!!!!! :)

Blinkng heck! How much did he spend??

probably about £90, the bike was £30 alone, guessing boxes were about a fiver each. he says he might take some of the pink boxes back lol (and he complained at me because he thought i'd bought too much OEP, and we have almost run out of tortillas already!)

My DD is getting her first proper bed next week, and he thought the boxes could go under it, good idea in principle, but until it arrives and we set it up, we dont know how tall it is, so its likely some of them will be to high to fit under it (wheres that rolls eyes smilie gone when you need it!)

Its a very good thing that i cant fit boxes under my new bed, it makes me not hoard stuff as all my other "hiding" places are full of T stuff :rotfl:

Even after going to the tip this morning, my spare room still looks like a bombsite

Gotta love the old style thread for gems like this!!!

we've got that recipe book, in pieces but minus sellotape . Someone on here a month or two ago was asking for a fruit cake recipe using suet. Have you checked the "Atora" website for recipes ?

..and now I know why he left me to clear up all the school christmas fair stuff from the garage, so it can be stored in the loft.....to make space for the excercise bike, which he will use while playing on the blackberry thingy he bought himself, out of the money my mum gave US for Christmas, his trip was premeditated! I thought at the time it was very out of character for him!:rotfl:

Well I decided against whoopsieing...phone Mr S CS instead about my order yesterday. I ordered 5 boxes of Ariel washing powder (72 washes for £10) plus I had 2 codes that worked together and booked the cheapest delivery slot (£3.50) so total of £33.50 (9.3p per wash ;) ) :D Anyway one the boxes was sliced open with a stanley knife so some of the powder had spilled out. CS couldn't be more helpful, refunded £10 straight onto my card :D yippeeee! Now I'm off to clean and tidy, will pop back in every now and again ;)

Mum's got my car so I'd have to walk, and A's is on the way :p:D So no 10 min whoopsieing today! And doggies need a little fresh air too :) Too much to do, so little time....atm I'm polishing in between posts!

Thanks fudge, can't believe I missed that. You're polishing in between posting, I'm arranging flowers, making stuffing and peeling potatoes:)
OH has just said when you empty those boxes in the spare room can I have them to put some bits in. What boxes I said and went to look. He meant perfume set boxes. I got vouchers at Xmas & bought in the sale a Gucci set, Ralph Lauren set, Stella M set and Vera Wang set and completely forgot I'd got them:eek::eek:That's naughty isnt it? They're sitting amongst Xmas tpressies that I got and I have'nt even properly looked at. Opened them Xmas morning and their was so much going on I didnt get chance to properly look at everything. And theirs quite a "erm few" bags of sale stuff I managed to purchase as well!!!
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

    Hi all
Have not posted for a while as no bargains to report. Had a lot of grief from my local when I bought some of the OEP last month and was so peeed off I complained to HO about the store in general. So now I only go in late staff are on. Did anyone see the article about a Tesco staff member dressed as a banana chasing a thief. Well that is my home store and my favourite assistant!!
I picked up some kind of stomach bug on the 27th Dec and basically only started eating again about 2 days ago. I lost about 10lbs but not a diet I would recommend. My Xmas cake keeps looking at me but I find it difficult to face a cup of t let alone fruit cake.
Feel lots better today so after putting away Xmas decs I might venture to the Extra nearby to check it out.
    Happy New Year all

Sorry you have been ill hope you soon fit and well enough to eat your Xmas cake can't have it sitting looking at you saying "eat me"

Hmmm. Just had a thought. I've got loads of casserole steak in the freezer. Guess I could make a steamed steak pud kinda like steak n kidney but omitting the kidneys?

Yes you can if you don't have any kidney but it does give the gravy a good flavour even though i don't eat the kidney.

We put the suet pastry in the pudding bowl, cubed steak two thirds up, then a layer of kidney, then onions on top, fill up with gravy made with just one oxo & put suet lid on.

When cooked we just take the lid off scrape off onions (I know wasteful), mother has the kidney I have steak & pastry, the gravy is thick & flavourful. Yum
