    Hi,

and being a single bloke in the situation of having to choose heating or eating, and with a mortgage to pay 'every little helps' - you lot have really helped put a smile on my face again.
BTW the store was in South T3lf0rD - they also had lots of the telescopes, keyboards and guitars - but didn't check them as don't need them (and couldn't afford them) - and the scanner is in the next aisle ;-)
    HTH
again a big thanks to you all - you really don't know how much this means to me *sobbing with joy*

Keep posting, message to other lurkers, take the plunge & join in. We don't bite, well I do but not very often :rotfl:

I'm struggling to stay awake :(
I'm normally in bed for half past seven (cfs) but am trying to stay awake for the end of the auction. I don't think I'll manage it!

I know what you mean :( Ex [STRIKE]decided[/STRIKE] dictated that we should have a 7 seater car for 5 people, 1 of whom was rarely in it (kid from 1st marriage). He bought a heap of junk from the auction which came complete with dings, scratches and even a broken wing mirror that wasn't listed on the auction details but he knew best. £500 and 4 new tyres later I'm driving an automatic (with flappy paddles should I feel the need to go into semi-automatic mode) with a fan belt that's about to snap and 3 windscreen wipers that need replacing seemingly only by the dealer as Halfrauds don't stock the ones my car needs. Oh and an mpg of around 25

How on earth do people prefer automatics to manuals. Unless it's the car I have, how do you do something so simple as just edge forward a bit without either taking off up the street or almost stalling? Give me clutch control any day. Anyone wanna buy my car :rotfl: But apart from that it's .... nah it's still a heap of

as a result of permanent damage to my sciatic nerve I have a weak left leg and therefore have to drive an automatic and have been for over 10yrs I passed my test in a manual but even if I had the choice I wouldn't go back to manual-not lazy just disabled and I get around 22mpg:mad: in my 7 seater
We are many we are one xxx

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.

I'm disliking your ex more and more.

The only things anywhere near automatic I had driven were combines and JCB Telescopics until sis and I went to Canada and NZ. I admit they came in to their own up and down some of the mountains we drove on but here in the UK, no thanks.

    Hey don't knock automatics!

I got the notion to drive 3 years ago and it took 12 weeks from my first lesson to passing my test!!!

Saved me a fortune in driving lessons. I never would have passed my test so quickly in a manual. :T

Never looked back since. Can go on my little errands a lot more easily. Before it was one shop a week

I don't know how anyone prefers automatics, I've never driven one but have been told they're horrid in icey conditions as it's far easier to lose control, I'm sorry but I like shifting gears when I want to, on some road conditions it's best to stay in lower gear like on very very steep hills.

One of my friend's mums can't drive a manual as she opted for the auto only instruction/test, have never understood why and neither has my friend!!

Had a fab find today :D

Technika 7" Portable DVD Player (the box with the man with his hands in the air)

    Scanned at 50p!!!!

    B/C 5052003613543

It was on it's own on shelf near the other DVD players in the most beat up looking box. I couldn't scan it, but took the risk at the till and even though the SA spent what felt like an age staring at the price on the screen she still let me have it :D
