  • Forgot to add - I also found some creme fraiche reduced the other day and used this today to make cultured butter. For some reason it took ages to get to the lumpy stage, but it did eventually and the butter is really lovely. Best of all, you can keep a bit of the creme fraiche back to add to plain cream and make more creme fraiche (a bit like making yoghurt). I've just done some buttermilk this way, as my LO loves to drink it and I always prefer to use it in baking, so I'll let you know tomorrow how it works out.

Sounds delish...just reading back to try find instructions for the butter making?? i use creme fraiche a good bit but didn't know you could do that - would you be able to pass on instructions please - i'd love to have a go. Thanks in advance.:)

Ok so 2012 didn't start off too well. Went to an out of my way Ts and only came out with a TS3 toy, 2 Illooms and a Nevada Desert Flower plug-in (first I've seen mind you). DS1 was asking for his father which after my first lone New Years was like a stake through the heart. Got to the folks who took the kids for a while to let me tackle another Ts in peace.

Lets' just say I walked out of the 2nd Ts knowing that the boys birthdays and Xmas's for the forseeable future are now sorted! Forgive the mass of pics but there was too much stuff for one pic.

    2012-01-01222411.jpg

GoGos Gold Series tins - 44p
    Card-Jitsu tins - 89p
    Cars & TS3 Bubble Lanyards - 20p

    Illooms Pumpkin & Scream balloons - 88p
Harry Potter jigsaw puzzles - 80p
    My Little Pony - 15p
    Toy Story 3 Action Links - £3.99

    2012-01-01222757.jpg

    GX Racers - £1
Fisher Price Waybuloo Nok Tok - 60p
    ZingZillas Poseable Zak - 4p :D
    ZingZillas Microphone - £1.50
    Wonderpets Plush - 30p

    2012-01-01222034.jpg

    Mini Laptop - £1.75
    My 1st Laptop - £2.25
    Mini Driver - £3
    Hammering Bench - £1.50
    My 1st Guitar - £1.50

My local T had these finest gift sets cheese reduced to half price. I bought one containing 2 bottles of cider and cheddar plus onion marmalade and oatcakes (all finest range) for £3. The other set had a bottle of Prosecco, wedge of Parmesan and bottle of balsamic vinegar (also finest) reduced from £15 to £7.50 which I thought was a good price although not mega cheap. The Parmesan alone would have cost about £5 I think.

thanks so much for this - I am trying to have many nsd in jan but i will be straight down to tesco for these gift sets - i bought them at 6 quid cos i though they looked nice and the cider, cheese and chutney thing was delish - i'm sure they will taste even better at 3 quid. thanks
