    altojack - Female - over 21 - Stowmarket Suffolk

Thought it was about time I joined the list too lol

I'm going off topic now but feel I want to share my good fortune. I haven't seen my grandchildren for about 18

months due to DS leaving his wife. I am now able to see the children and am going tomorrow with DH for our

first visit. I've been sitting around with a grin on my face and feeling so excited and yet weepy. Does that make sense?

HAve a lovely time - divorces casue so much unhappiness to so many people/ Enjoy your grandkids

Made this about an hour ago from a 300ml pot of double cream.
I didn't strain it through muslin though as I kept tipping the buttermilk into a bowl as I was going.(and I don't have any muslin!) I just rinsed it in very cold water and dried it off.
It looks like butter and tastes like butter though! :T:TPhoto-0185.jpg

    FANTASTIC!! :T

There'll be no stopping you now girl!

    Go, you :T

  • Forgot to add - I also found some creme fraiche reduced the other day and used this today to make cultured butter. For some reason it took ages to get to the lumpy stage, but it did eventually and the butter is really lovely. Best of all, you can keep a bit of the creme fraiche back to add to plain cream and make more creme fraiche (a bit like making yoghurt). I've just done some buttermilk this way, as my LO loves to drink it and I always prefer to use it in baking, so I'll let you know tomorrow how it works out.
