Someone just sent me a 'Happy New Year' text.
Firstly, they're 26 hours too late.
Secondly, judging by the rest of the text, it wasn't meant for me.:rotfl:0 -

Ok here's my catch up, sorry everyone for the long post and going back so farI wish T would roll out the hand held self scanners I saw in one shop I popped into whilst on holidays (Bognor Regis way) I only popped in for a wee and a bottle of water but had to stop and stare open mouthed at the wall of scanners
hmmm  Bognor Regis way you say, was that a t's or was it Mr S in Chi*hest*r? I don't think I've ever seen them in any t's this wayMorning all
Getting annoyed this morning at the RSPCA thanking me for supporting them for asking for yet more money and sending a big batch of horrible photos. I know they have to fundraise but they always seem so greedy, they're never satisfied! It's not as if they ask for a tenner here or there, it's always at least £90 a time, I know it goes to a worthy cause so I send the requested donations when I can but their tactics leave a LOT to be desired! Most of these letters will go to families who will be left feeling heartless because they can't afford a huge £90 just after xmas!
OK rant over!
I donate to the RSPCA monthly and they also kept phoning me and sending lots of gumph in the post, until one day one of the letters I got had an option for me to tick a box if I no longer wanted to receive regular mailings and telephone calls from them, I ticked it and sent it back, now I only receive their magazine abt twice a year. hthThat's dreadful! I always get my cats from rescue centres, in fact out of the 6 sadly departed and 2 present cats I have, only the first one wasn't a rescue as she was a farm cat. Too many people only want kittens so the older cats get left behind, I will actively seek out the ones that no-one else wants, my mum was the same. Thanks to her we spent some lovely time with a 15-year-old ginger tabby with no teeth called Harvey (he was gooorrrrrrrrrrrrrgeous and named after the Jimmy Stewart film) and a pair called Lady (who I'm still grieving for) and Mushroom. No-one wanted them, they were in the rescue centre for 3 years because they were a pair and Mushroom only had three legs, there was NOTHING wrong with him, he had no health problems, he just simply had only 3 legs and people were so superficial over it. He was the fastest cat in the world (nicknames included Hop-along Cassidy and Speedy Gonzales), had no trouble with cat flaps or anything, it beggars belief!
Nothing wrong with Harvey either except his age and the fact he could only have soft food. I actually can't think about him without welling up, he only lasted a year but he was so lovely *sniff*
Most of my cats have been strays and rescues from RSPCA or Cat protection league.
The Cats protection league do a great scheme called Golden Oldies.
If you adopt a cat over 12 years old, they will pay for all future medical costs relating to any existing or future medical condition they may develop.
It is to help the older cats get rehomed and I think it's a great idea and means that some of the older generation and those on low incomes who would love to own a cat, but can't afford too, are able to give them a loving home.
Golden Oldie Scheme'We are delighted to announce our new Golden Oldies Scheme. We have often found that people are happy to home an older, more settled cat who needs a new home, but are put off by the prospect of expensive vet bills. It is not uncommon to find that insurance companies will not take on a new risk when the cat is of a certain age. We will now cover non-routine veterinary expenses for all cats known to be over the age of twelve when adopted from our branch. We cannot cover routine flea and worming treatments, or booster vaccinations. We hope this scheme will encourage people to take on older, stable, loving cats without the worry of big vet bills. For the older cats, we hope to find them happy homes without the need for months of foster care'
My parents adopted a cat from them a few years ago under this scheme and whilst the cats protection league pay for his medical expenses, as my parents can mostly afford these bills, they donate money back to the cats protection league, to say thanks
It is also worth noting that if any of you decide to adopt/rehome a cat, that Black and white cats are the least sort after and generally get left till last as people prefer some of the prettier cats like tabby, white, tortoiseshell, ginger etc, which I think is really sadall of my cats with the exception of 2 ginger strays and, one ginger one from the cats protection league, have been black and white (7 of them) and they have all been so affectionate kind and loving cats

The ss flagged up as restricted item i had 10 andrex but bought happy feet on dvd so made out to the ssa i thought it was the dvd that was restricted .
It would have actually been the DVD that set off the restricted item alert. Stupid as it sounds, I know, but all dvd's will set off this alert on SS regardless of the film restriction. I have had this happen on films that are a 'U' rating :eek:yesterday i went in and in the sale isle in my extra there was a cage full of bedding,

Oooh, do you have any barcodes or pics for these, pretty please....:DFemale - 32 - Hampshire
Hmmm, now Hampshire you say , now I wonder, where exactly would your stomping ground be, if you don't mind me asking?Today we shared photos of our pets and very enjoyable too
How about tomorrow we post a picture of our Christmas trees?
A different subject everyday would be interesting.
Like the first snowdrops, butter mountains, or your bird tables - what we had for dinner, unidentified stains on clothing, the jeans that caught fire after OH microwaved them dry, muddy boots, the list is endless.
Nothing that will identify you - just subjects we can all share
Just a thoughtNo xmas tree for me this year, will have to await a pic subject I can join in on
I don't like touching a live fish either....no way I could take one off a hook while it was wriggling.
Give me a nice cuddly lion, tiger or bear anyday!!
Noooo, you shouldn't touch a live fish, unless you intend to eat it I suppose, as the acid on your skin burns them, same with frogs, newts etc as well
