  • not until now but december birthdays are pooh so thinking a half birthday garden party is a good plan now i have all the bits lol can even make favours with my muslin bags !! she didnt have a party this year as we were in disneyland but silly as i am i still felt guilty so will make up for it in june !

she is very spoilt but not yet a brat hope it stays that way !! sometimes i come home and she asked ' mummy have you got me a pressent today ? ' and i often say ' not today just a big hug and kiss ' and shes happy with that bless her !! xx

Giving your DD a party in June is a fantastic idea. I really think that kids don't really care when their birthday party celebration is, just so long as they have one, even if it is a small family one.

I don't think she will ever be a brat but there is no reason you can't give her the treats you want to. I bet, as a mum, seeing her beaming face when you do special things for her, makes your heart melt every time. It makes all the hard work you put into money saving and bargain hunting, all the more rewarding. :T

My birthday is in January and nobody ever has any money left to buy me a present. This is very sad!

Then arrange to do something for your birthday during the first week of February. I personally don't think birthday celebrations have to be on your actual birthday.

are there any down your that are good usually ?

right must sleep alarm set for 6am cause for some stupid reason i agreed to work overtime......hope my sore throat turns into a lost voice and i can go to work but not do any lol cant speak to people then !! fingers crossed double pay for not alot of work ......doubt i am that lucky though ! x

Oooh thanks for the info, Yate is sooooo far for me though, would have to be a damn good glitch! ... like free shopping ;):D

Yeah my locals aren't bad but they're all superstores or my nearest Express is about 8 iles so the range is limited. For something like the party bits, I'd have to go to a Bristol Extra :)

Sleep tight, hope you do have a very successful day at work!

Thanks again for all the info and you too glitchb!tch :T

I have missed my [STRIKE]Jedi[/STRIKE] MSE master, my bargain hunting skills have been poor in your absence.

If present wrapping at Christmas is a problem, I know one person who told me that the tradition in their house is not to wrap the gifts. They hide them until Christmas Eve and only then do they lay them out under the tree, ready for everyone to find them in the morning. It saves the waste generated from torn/discarded wrapping paper. Just an idea if you have a problem with wrapping next year.

When it comes to wrapping I am just plain lazy and try to put as many things in gift bags which I seal with tape.

Anywho, gr8 to have you back.

Happy New Year and hope you have a gr8 time bargain hunting at Ts throughout 2012 :T

Ahh thanks hun, glad to be back :)

I do have some new finds to post too, but photobucket has just crashed on me , I think I overloaded it and it couldn't cope :rotfl:

I'm normally so organised, but this year it just all went wrong
unfortunatley under the tree wouldn't have worked for me this year either as I didn't even get my tree out of the loft and didn't post any xmas cards either :(
My friends DD1 offered to come round xmas eve and help me wrap all my pressies (she is only 12 and really is an :A), but I ended up being up my parents so late it was too late to pick her up and despite seeing how shattered I was, OH refused to help until abt 4.30pm on xmas day .
I even ended up wrapping pressies for BIL, SIL and their kids on xmas morning, dressed in my pj's while they waited in the other room  that was a bit of a sight :rotfl:

I am hoping that this year will be better though and I'm determined to be more organised :), in fact I have already started to put a few bits away for xmas and bought all my wrapping paper and most of my cards :D

Oh and almost forgot to post this little message with my last post, was meant to be posted for xmas, but better late than never I suppose :o.
This is for all of you lovely people on here :)

'Amazing people are always in our thoughts at christmas.
In my life, I've met some amazing people who've forever changed me...
I don't know if they know how much they help me on days when I felt discouraged, uncertain, or simply blue.
It could be their grins, their words, their examples or their real kindness that pulled me through.
How much I appreciate them, I'm not sure they will ever understand.... but you should all know, those amazing people are all of you.

Thanks so much to all of you :A who have helped me get through a very difficult year, this thread and all of you on it have really been my saving grace these last few months and I just hope I can help you all too sometime :)

I agree with you but everyone turns up on my birthday and says things like "I haven't got paid yet", "I spent too much on Christmas but will buy you something later" etc. I am waiting for birthday presents from years ago! Anyway, I am old enough to just put up with it! But it's not fair if you are a child.

will tell her its an un-birthday party like in alice in wonderland lol she will love it !!

what a lovely thing to say thank you and all very true !! i am a lucky mummy she is a good girlie and makes me laugh ever day . i am strict with her but its paid off really when i tell her no she knows i mean it and if she pushes her luck she knows she will go onto the naughty step but once its done we are friends again and have a big hug !!

kids are the best thing ever ! i am guna cry like a baby when she starts school in sept and i know she will just walk off and say ' see you later mummy ' lol ! ....then the birthday parties will start better start stock piling pressies for that one !!
reminds me my neighbours 2 kids brought round pressies for dd on christmas eve :eek: first time ever dont see them much..........tesco to the rescue i was saved by 2 boxes of under the sea moon dough £2 that i was 'just wrapping ' phew ..........so glad i had something in !!

right night night all must sleep !! xxx

Ahhh, I fully understand. I have a brother with a birthday in December and he always said that it was a non event. That is why we don't do anything Christmas related (except for background planning and buying which DS has no knowledge of) until we have celebrated my DSs birthday. It does make Christmas a bit of a rush but it is all worth it in the end.

Arrange a night out at a bar/pub or restaurant, that way you can make them buy you a drink for your birthday at least ;)
