i'd love a cat food glitch

Knowing my luck though it would be on stuff that mine wouldnt eat so would end up being wasted

Mine are fussy b*ggers too but if it was really cheap...they would be eating it whether they wanted to or not!

Well my leftover pie is in the oven, dishes are draining and I'm making a brew.

Who was it who was making a pie for the first time yesterday? Want to know how it went?

It went very well - thank you for your help JJ.

It was all much quicker and easier than I had imagined and tasted yummy.

Just a few bits of leftover chicken, two mushrooms and a tin of free condensed soup - what a bargain.

Even better - it is just my dd and I at home so we only ate half the pie - tonight we will be eating leftover leftover pie!

Added bonus... it made me feel all 'Domestic Goddess-y' smelling my pie baking in the oven and I took a photo of it to show you :)

Totally off Mr T subject but does anyone know if I paid for a holiday in full through Thomas Cook and they go under what will happen? Will I still get my holiday or do I lose it?

Please help cause I already done this before I knew about them being in trouble and holiday isn't until next year. I paid it off because I had the money and didn't want to get nearer the time and not have any to pay for it then need to borrow, now worrying

Do not worry, you are fully protected. T Cook is a fully bonded ABTA/ATOL company and you would get a refund. Keep all receipts, invoices and copy bank or credit card statements. Should you have to make a claim, you will need these documents.

The only thing not covered is for flight only. If you booked a flight, the flight is covered, but if you paid for a transfer or hotel separately, this is not covered under the ATOL scheme. If you have paid for a hotel and transfer and have paid out over £100 on your credit card, then you can claim this back off the credit card company.

Only until the New Year though.

Please cut the ill informed bull out.
In November, it secured £200m of new financing, just days after seeing its shares plunge 75% in one day.
Its lenders, including Barclays, HSBC, RBS and UniCredit, agreed to provide the new facility until 30 April 2013.

Couldnt agree with you more Locarr re Mr O'Leary ... that awful phrase 'should be tossed out to the sharks' springs to mind!

I have a holiday and a flight booked and paid for in full with T.Cook, Hopefully they will recover, at worst for the time being they will scale down some flights/hols. They have already closed some travel agents, sold off some hotels in Spain and leased out some of their aircraft. They have a cash-flow problem (as do most tour operators throughout the winter months) and it is beyond me why they were allowed to take over the Co-op Travel when they had a liquidity problem.

Out of every booking for a holiday or flight with an ABTA/ATOL backed company, a £2.50 charge is levied (this is not voluntary but compulsory) which guarantees you funds are safe. Whatever happens you will eventually get a refund (just a major inconvenience and disappointment should something go wrong). If T.Cook should fold, then there is hardly any serious competition and hols and flights would rocket. Just hope it doesn't happen as there is less and less competition.

The thing with Ryanair is always expect the worst, that way you won't be disappointed. Mr O turned an airline that was on it's knees in to the biggest and most profitable in Europe and for that reason I have a lot of admiration for him.

A gentleman was in Stansted Airport, killing time until his next flight was due. He walked into a bar, ordered a drink and sat down at a table. Then, in walks one of the most beautiful girls that he has ever laid eyes on. She delicately walks past him, with a smile, sending the most delicate aroma of perfume in his direction, and sits down at the table opposite. He realises straight away that she is most likely an off-duty air hostess, as she is in uniform - but not being a man that flies very often, and knowing very little about airlines, apart from airline slogans! - he's not sure which airline she works for! He can't keep his eyes off her, she is stunning, and it is like love at first sight!

Hoping to pick her up for a date and to impress her, he quickly recalls some airline slogans!

He leant over to her table and uttered the Delta airlines Slogan "We love to fly and it shows"

She managed a little smile, but at the same time gave him a bit of a blank and confused look.

He immediately thought to himself "Damn, she doesn't work for Delta"!

Two minutes later another slogan popped into his head, he leant over to her table again and uttered the Malaysian Airlines slogan "Going beyond expectations"

This time she didn't smile, gave him a harsh blank stare and an even more confused look.

He now thought "she doesn't work for Malaysian Airlines either, I've got to get it right the 3rd time or I've blown it"

A minute later he leant over to her again and sang the words "b-mi, b-mi, b-mi little baby" in the desperate hope that he would be correct this time in assuming that she worked for BMI.

She suddenly turned on him and said "For f**ks sake man you stupid ba***rd, you're acting like an a**e hole, what in the name of f**k do you want?

He smiled, slumped back in his chair and said "Ahhhhhhhh now I know, *Ryanair!!"

*Ryanair can be replaced with Air France as it's still just as relevant. :rotfl:

That's new on me then, last I heard it was only until the New Year.
  • It depends really, but because they are one of the main ones and are ABTA registered you will either get your money back or get your holiday. You might have to wait a while for any refund though.

Just make sure you have good travel insurance. ;)

Need to sort that out then, was offered their own but declined it because it was soooooooooooo expensive. Also still have to sort out car hire, attraction tickets and whatever else we're gonna do! So not very prepared but we'll see what I get booked :D
