No need to worry. They are covered by ABTA so you are covered.
Best to pay by c/c though as any refund can be claimed through your bank which might be quicker.
I'd heard that the banks had extended their loans anyway so it's probably nothing to worry about!
Thanks for the info, paid by visa debt card (halifax) Late DH had wanted to take DS on a holiday to Florida in 2012 as we loved the one we went on in 2008 so I just had to book it and pay for it all at once:DSPC #329 £471/£500 banked
SPC 2014 £1100:D

Yes. Also, they didn't always take out the money from your account, as it cost them! I remember Warsaw for the weekend, come back and re-pack for Rome the follwing day for a few days. Home for a day then back off elsewhere. Good times. Everyone knocks ryanair but they've taken us to loads of places, extremely cheap! Very mse. :T
With these extremely cheap flights Ruinair bank on you paying for all the added extras
Checked in luggage
Overweight luggage
Boarding card re-issue
Priority boarding
Over priced on board food and drink.
The above is how Ruinair really make their money.0 -
Afternoon everyone, well & truly back in the saddle, Guests gone and 5 minutes later I'm out the door to T's!!! Got 18 packs of whoopsied finest sausages and the different discounts kicked in so ended up paying peanuts for them:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Thats my sausage stash back up to capacity for a while. Have a trip planned from 7pm tonight to take in 3 T's;););)Should if I time it right hit all 3 at whoopsie time:TSaw loads of whoopsied flowers but only 1/2 price so should be right down tonight, How sad I'm so excited about going:rotfl:And Happy about those shoes.......
Had a nightmare on the scooter in Old Y, nearly turned it over reversing  They loads & loads of rump & fillet steak in boxes, very little reduction might be worth you looking later.0 -
You have alrealdy put the wind up snap ant with your ill informed post!
O' Leary has major foot in mouth problems and is a rip off merchant...
advertising flights for a pound but the end price is much, much higher..he was even thinking of charging a £1 to use the toilet! I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him...:p
We use ryan air a lot instead of packages. You know whats what when you book and its always worked out a lot cheaper for us, and we love it!
With three children we only take hand luggage, its amazing what you dont need for the sake of it and they are never funny about us taking own food and nibbles. Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -
I don't suppose many of you can remember the great xmas hamper fiasco of xmas 2008/9 .
Tesco direct sold lovely hampers in whicker baskets . The finest hamper was a hundred and something and the other approx £80. After christmas they reduced them to £20 and £40 ish . So lots of us orderd multiple hampers . The very next day they reduced the cheaper of the hampers to £10 each . So we all cancelled the orders and were refunded and re-ordered at the cheaper price as you do .A lot of the new orders were cancelled as they did not have enough stock
But the strange thing was all the cancelled and refunded orders started to arrive:D . I left my 2 hampers wrapped up for a few weeks in case they asked for them back , when I did get round to opening them , I had 2 of the finest ones with champers and luxury goodies
Tesco stopped selling them after that .:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Never pay more than you have too0 -
Hi Karlie.
I think Best Grabbit is a great idea - already I have been reminded of some great grabbits that I had forgotten! How did that happen?
Thank you. It has cheered me greatly to remember all the good stuff that dropped into my lap courtesy of MSE and its members.
Wonder if you would like to PM Redfox and ask if you can have a similar sticky on the main board? I think peeps would like be reminded of the good stuff ......0 -

Couldnt agree with you more Locarr re Mr O'Leary ... that awful phrase 'should be tossed out to the sharks' springs to mind!
I have a holiday and a flight booked and paid for in full with T.Cook, Hopefully they will recover, at worst for the time being they will scale down some flights/hols. They have already closed some travel agents, sold off some hotels in Spain and leased out some of their aircraft. They have a cash-flow problem (as do most tour operators throughout the winter months) and it is beyond me why they were allowed to take over the Co-op Travel when they had a liquidity problem.
Out of every booking for a holiday or flight with an ABTA/ATOL backed company, a £2.50 charge is levied (this is not voluntary but compulsory) which guarantees your funds are safe. Whatever happens you will eventually get a refund (just a major inconvenience and disappointment should something go wrong). If T.Cook should fold, then there is hardly any serious competition and hols and flights would rocket. Just hope it doesn't happen as there is less and less competition.0 -
Just went to collect my new lappie from a famous electrical company;)It was reduced from £899 to £399 but wasnt in stock when I ordered it, so had to collect it today. Surprise surprise when I got there they had made an error and didnt have one. This is where all my mse cyber buddies come in.You have taught me to stand my ground and I so did. This time last year I'd have said ok and just took a refund, but not now!!:rotfl::rotfl: SA said none in stock any where and offerd me a £20 gift card as compensation. I said No, I've ordered it, paid for it and I want it. He then offered me one worth £500 for the same price and I said no get the manager. Manager said pretty much the same thing, alternative slightly dearer laptop and £20 giftcard. I said no I want one to the value of £899 which is what I'd ordered. Both said no and wnet to talk to the store manager. He said no and I said let me speak to him and they said no he doesnt speak to customers!!!!!!!!I said fine, get me head office on your phone and I'll speak to them to which they said Sorry our phones don't work to head office!!:eek::eek::eek:SA went off to speak to store manager again as by then I said I wouldnt leave the store until he spoke to me!SA came back and said we've managed to locate you one up North and it will be here Monday:T:T:TSo standing my ground and the old Head office tricked worked a treat. Thanks guys for giving me the confidence to stick to my guns;)
I'm very proud of you :dance:0
