I can understand the shopping for what you need it would keep things fresh etc, but I have to admit I don't like shopping so I go out and do it as in frequently as I can
I didn't think I was a bit of a hoarder but maybe I am and need to look at that as well0 -

so today what have i achieved,
wel i did my tilly up before i even got out of my bed, phoned the lawyer for dotty aunty jean, that is going to take time to deal with and will just tick away in the background.
i went for a walk up the local high street, had a bit of an arguement with myself as to whether to take the car or walk it due to the rain, but i walked it in the end saving me some diesel money and getting me some excercise,
whilst there i returned a library book which was overdue i had tried to drop it off on the monday but the library was shut then it slipped out of my mind so i handed it back and got a 60p fine, i handed over my card ( as i didnt have any cash on me at all) but the woman explained they dont take cards so i said ok be back in a min need to nip to the bank the woman kindly waived the 60p fine so i have transferred over £1.20 to the interest bearing debt with a reminder to hand my library books back
now those that have travelled my journey with me from the start may remember that i had an aversion to libraries stemming back from my childhood when i used to go and get books which were torn or covered in things, over the years i have spent hundreds if not thousands in books due to this aversion, thankfully thanks to people on here and me biting the bullet this is no longer the case, and i mustve saved a fortune by now with all the books i have borrowed, so today it struck me just how much i have changed over the years, some may say that is a small change but for me it is significant
came home and made some home made soup using up some of the out of date store cupboard stuff and some veg i bought up the local high street, we also used some cantonese kindo sauce up so slowly the cupboard is being used, have never added peas to soup before and green lentils deff make it a strange colour but we will eat it and use up the store cupboard.
i was going to tackle another cupboard today but decided against it as i know it has out of date things in as well and i have no more space in the out of date cupboard just now, and i am living in the bubble of out if sight out of mind lol ...anyway will hopefully get the out of date cupboard down within the next couple of weeks and do another cupboard and slowly get them all done
when mr el went to his class i did day one of week one of the c25k challenge, it certainly wasnt easy but i managed it and i will manage day 2 of week one on wednesday
i am night shift all week so no doubt will be doing some plotting with the finances, i am thinking of how i can get mr el to understand that we cant afford to run the heating at the current level that we are... maybe need to work out some hard facts and figures for him to understand that though
was reading the austerity thread by ( i think ) mags, somone on there suggested trying something they had read about which was getting a jar and when something good happens to you through out the year you write about it and put it in the jar then on hogmany ( or any date really... maybe when your down?) taking the jar out and reading about how good life can be ... i thought that was a very good idea and i am thinking about doing it myself, i think i would put the librarian saving me 60p in not that 60p is alot ... it was more the kindness of her doing it that i appreciated
hope everyone is good and having fun0 -
Hi El, I love the idea of a good things jar - may well borrow that.

How could I have forgotten ? - I used to keep scrapbooks / Albums in which I put momento's (sp) of my achievements & similar ... things like a picture of my Motorbike I bought having passed my test, a Postcard of Pen-y-Gent to remind me I'd succeeded in climbing it, customer thank you's, first job offer etc
Can't remember when or why I stopped adding to them & I no longer have them (got lost in one of my moves over the years)Whilst some things can't be replaced - there are others that I could reproduce (bike picture / Pen-yGent etc) to re-create the essence of them .... I'm sure it would help when feeling low...
Thanks Skinty - for the reminder !

EDITED TO ADD - : I just thought, this could be done with a separate "book" .... for debt busting ??? Maybe with a before & after images over a couple of pages ... an image of them each time they hit a new marker point ?~ On the Road to Making Dreams Happen ~
