When I joined MSE, it was the DFW diaries that really inspired me. I did have debt but only in the form of credit cards, and nothing overwhelming (or so I thought)....it's only in the last 2/3 years have I considered my mortgage as any form of debt, which sounds totally crazy:o

natty i think that is very normal tbh, i think also it does make more sense to concentrate on the more expensive ( hopefully faster to clear) debts as well, it's only really when we get on top of the other debts that we start to think along the lines of " ohhh if i can do that with my debt, i could do that with my mortgage"

it's almost like we are all grown up when we start to deal with the mortgage... although by looking at the parties going on on the mfw board ... i'm not sure if grown up is the right word :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::D:D

Hi El! Just reading your posts. So interesting am reading every page. Just wanted to say how motivating you are and if at all try and relax about work. I only know too well how stressful it can be and every job isn't perfect. I do wish you the best for 2013!

Work - please try and destress and only think about work during your hours, keep your head down and do the job. Try to stay out of any politics. I too used to be contacted all the time on my phone, it really did my head in so I bought another phone and only gave the number out to friends, family and colleagues I was close to. It really empowered me. Maybe you could get another sim. Then you are still available but don't have the dread of the phone ringing.

    Good luck for 2013

hi Emmita thanks for dropping by. it's always great to see new faces :) ive never thought of myself as motivating i have to admit ... more dull and boring, which is why i think i dissappear every now and then as i even bore myself, i'm not promising to be less boring ( although i will try ;)) but i am deff going to try and write more often and keeo this diary going as i am learning about the power of the diary

you are totally right about work and i have stepped away from the office politics to a certain extent as things have been happening recently and normally i would get stuck right in and try and work them out ( i was always the person that dealt with things) now however i am quite often saying "no" at first people in work struggled with hearing it, but i just said "look ive had a T.I.A i aint stressing over this no more" sadly though with staff not showing up etc we do get pulled in and stressed with it all :(

i used to have two phones and gave work one and my friends the other, i did however make the stupid mistake of giving my friends at work my friends number and then before you know it they were phoning me on my friends number to get me to cover shifts as they knew i wouldnt answer the work number .. i then lost the phone ( well actually hubby did) and had to give the work my friends number ... but just before xmas hubby was cleaning out his sock drawer and found the phone ( goodness knows why it was in his sick drawer) so i may just start implementing it all again ( although not giving my friends at work my friends number this time)

will see how the work goes in the next few weeks ... if it doesnt stop them i will deff go back to the 2 phone method ...

thanks for reminding me about it

right well today i have done my tilly ups not much to transfer over but every little helps and i think it will mean we will make the £707 for this month

now that hubby has finally ( thank goodness) started to be involved more with the finances, he has started to feel more able to deal with things, he spoke to me last night and said " el i dont want you to die, but if you do i need to know what to do, who to contact etc"

yes it may sound maudling but i was relieved to hear it tbh, when i had my t.i.a and all that went with that ( well my health wasnt too great last year at all) i was concerned that if i were to die mr el would not have a clue what to do and where to look.

i had broached the subject several times over the last 25 years but everytime i did mr el found it much easier to bury his head, so with us having this discussion today i took the bull by the horns and made a what i am calling "in case of death" list

other plans for today are go for a walk and get ready for park run tomorrow ... i'm feeling nervous and excited about it all :)

hope everyone is good and having fun

That's a good idea about a "in event of death" list El, thinking things out rationally while not actually having to, must do one for me, not sure who to give it to mind - my bro perhaps....

Now I know he's all prepared and that but do remember to take it steady at the Park Run. I don't want you giving him the list to turn into some kind of premonition. You won't be last, I can pretty much guarantee that!

Have you told him how to use the washing machine or does he already know that?

p.s. Had to do a washing machine in Rapidough on Christmas day. I made a box shape in playdough, put the buttons on, the circular window at the front and even shook it for the spin cycle. My partner still didn't get it :rotfl:

i plan on updating it every 6 months or so, i dont see there will be many things that will change overe the period but i do think it is important to keep on top of it as it can make whoever is left to deal with my stuff feel less stressed ... and in my sons case ( cause i dont intend on dying for another 60 or so years) he can sit and rub his hands :rotfl::rotfl:

you know Butti i did think of that myself lol

i'm actually thinking maybe u shouldnt do it tomorrow as i was reqading on the site they want you not to really go for it unless you can manage it, i can manage to walk it no problemo at all ... and i do think i could walk and add a wee jog for maybe 100 mtrs or so no problemo but i dont think i can jog it even slightly so i dont want to start it and not be able to achieve what is expected of me

i downloaded a c25k plan and was thinking of maybe just starting that until i am ready to maybe be able to jog half of it or so

but i aint gonna lie i want to get started as well

mr el knows how to work the machine ... i got a simple to use one when we went looing for one as i was determined i wasnt being left with it all .... so he has been using it since day dot lol

although i do like your idea of rapidough to use for teaching him other things :D

With the parkrun thing - they have a FB page so if you like that you can ask a question re the running/walking or just waiting till you can run it all.
