10 months in and 90 left to go ... the reality is starting to kick in :)

So I went to the speakers club had another really good night, was told tonight if I wanted to join the club ( and therefore start doing speaking etc) it will cost me £20 in fees instead of the usual £45 as I will be joining half way through the season, I think I am going to go for it as I can see it will help me deal with my nerves etc ( obviously when I pluck up the courage to speak in the first place )

I've often thought about getting chickens, just don't want to get them then find out I don't have enough time to care for them, hope they like their new home

Mr el got a letter yesterday, remember how he got that procedure on his back? Well apparently because it worked for a couple of days he is a candidate for a new type of procedure called " radio frequency ablation of the median nerve" he can't get it done on our own N.H.S as we don't have anyone qualified to do it, but he can get it done on another one not far away. So now he needs to decide if it's something he wants to go for or not

just had a phone call from Mother in law she has booked us onto a holiday to Benidorm ... anyone that knows me will know how i feel about that one

now we told her just recently and have told her several times, look we cant afford to go on holiday with you next year, yes the mother in law paid for Rome and London for us and we appreciated it we really did, but were trying to get out of debt.

now for all i know she may be paying for the holiday for us ( i dont know at this stage as we couldnt really talk as we are dealing with dotty aunty jean issues just now)

even if she is paying for the holiday we will need spending money....

I feel your pain Elantan... (and count my blessings that my MiL is in a different country and not that generous!). I guess you are damned if you do and damned if you don't go. I think she either didn't believe your "we're skint" pleas or she's lonely and really wants family to go on holiday with her.

Even if you don't speak this season then you are at least getting out and meeting other people

Oh blimey El! I hope you get that sorted and soon - could you not "fib" and say you have heard rumours that you (or Mr El) could be losing your job in the next 18 months and you need to save all your money "just in case the worst happens" and therefore you really cannot afford to go away even if she pays for the flights.

i think your totally right mrn, she seems to want more family holidays as she is getting older, i know i am sounding so ungrateful, but i trully want to get out of debt, and were already trying to save money for a holiday we have booked for next August, this was gonna be a challenge as it is but to add another added pressure to our already squeezed tight budget is just so bloody annoying

but we will manage i am sure and Benidorm will happen ( were is the roll eyes smiley when i need it)

i dont think the Mil would buy that tbh Dragon and especially as we are booked already for another holiday which we will need to organise a way of paying

it dont rain but it pours :mad:
