I finished my christmas shopping a couple of weeks ago. I can't imagine wading my way through the shops now, you'd have to be pretty stupid to want to do that.

Not on your nelly!! Car Parks FULL, shops jammed to the rafters with people grabbing anything that may be left, the walkways were just a people soup .... I gave up in the end - it's madness.

Its not all bad up North,Newcastle has been heaving this past few weeks.
I gave up waiting in some shops last week the queues were so long and yesterday was unbearable there were so many shoppers.

I was in the more up market town of Winchester a few days ago which is just down the road from Basingstoke, i did not witness any of the kind of fairytale dross you go on about.

I am quite willing to admit that there will be people with money no matter how bad things get, but in the REAL world where most of us live MrRees there are a lot of people having a bad time right now.
